all i want is to stand there. under florescent lights. with nothing to cover but the skin God gave me. no calvin kleins. and i want you to see me. really see me. please, take off the comparison and put on that unconditional stuff. the stuff my parents talk about. i’ve pointed fingers for this pain, but indeed i’ve cut myself without knives. how will you love me when i can’t even glance at myself? i’ve aimed for solution but the self-help hardbacks have run out of ideas. so i guess this is it. this is where i tie that weary white flag to the end of my wrist and violently wave. this is where I surrender. hoping you see me. please see me. i’m just trying to make sense of how this love thing really works. apparently it can be powerful. that’s what they say, at least. . .
