I'm a professional data pack developer focusing on custom worldgen, structures, and other data pack features. I'm the creator of New in Town, Dragonkind Evolved, and more, and also the Lead Developer for Logdotzip, Craftee, and Kipper.
No matter your thoughts on the Chaos Cubed drop, today's video explores why the Sulfur Caves are changing Minecraft Worldgen forever! https://youtu.be/fTW_M3JXwmc
So it may be obvious, but the Mine, Actually video isn't necessarily performing very well. This isn't unexpected; I know most of my audience is here for worldgen and structures, and I don't intend to move away from that at all.
This video was a true passion project, a worm I got in my head that I needed to see realized, and I'm incredibly proud of the result. I'm also so grateful to those of you who did watch, and how much it seems you did enjoy and appreciate the work that went into it!
I would really love to do more Mine, Actually episodes, and maybe I will, but I'm gonna be transparent: It was a lot of work. Some of that work is just upfront cost, like the set and data pack mechanics, and so can just be reused in the future. But other aspects, particularly the editing, were a greater task than I'm normally able to commit, and can only have their process improved by so much. And while it sucks, it's also just the reality that the video needs to justify that time investment.
This isn't trying to hold anyone hostage; I really enjoyed making this and if I can find the time to put another one together, I don't think I'll be able to stop myself 😅 But, if you want to see more, it would mean a lot to me of you shared the video and help it get to that audience that I know will enjoy it, because that will help me be able to create the time to do this again.
I've recreated Dropout's "Um, Actually" in Minecraft and invited ‪@creamsickle‬, ‪@Dewlan‬, and ‪@ryanthescion‬ as my contestants! Watch them buzz-in with data pack-driven buzzers, see their scores increment on text display entities, and scan the set walls for mis-matched item models as we correct incorrect statements on "Mine, Actually!" https://youtu.be/wGWCKA-AejM
Thank you to ‪@conure512‬ for joining me in the fact checker booth!
