Relaxing Botanical Art
Hi everyone! πΏ I decided to take a little break and chat with you today.
My morning started with an academic drawing practice. βοΈ I worked on shading a cup and a little still life with a pear and a tomato. Building volume and understanding light is such a challenging but incredibly rewarding process! And to relax my hand afterward, I did a quick sketch of my old boots in my sketchbook. π₯Ύ I am still completely in love with drawing directly with a simple ballpoint penβno erasers, just pure freedom. ποΈ
My fluffy art director, Masyanya, was carefully monitoring the whole process from behind the easel, as always. π
Later, I went for a walk because the weather outside is simply wonderful. And guess what? I found the very first snowdrops! π€ Spring is a time of miracles and inspiration. As everything around slowly begins to breathe, I just want to take a deep breath and breathe it all in. β¨ It brings so much fresh energy to create.
I know my new videos take a little bit of time to come out, but I am working on them and preparing something beautiful for you. π¨ I also want to say how incredibly grateful I am to all my subscribers for being with me, and I am so happy to welcome all my new viewers! Thank you from the bottom of my heart. β€οΈ
I also had an idea: would you be interested in a silent live stream? There won't be any talking, just the relaxing process of me sketching a flower with a ballpoint pen from a reference. You could grab your sketchbooks and we could draw together in real-time! Let me know what you think. ποΈπΈ
How is your week going? Have you spotted any spring flowers where you live yet? Share in the comments! π

Relaxing Botanical Art
Hi everyone! πΈ I caught myself thinking: do you enjoy peeking behind the scenes of my channel sometimes?
While I'm getting ready to film the final part of my sketchbook spread, I decided to take a little break and chat with you. Today I had an academic drawing lesson. My new subjects are a tomato and a pear! π π Oh, the construction process... measuring and re-measuring a million times just to get the proportions right!
But to relax a bit, we did a few quick sketches. And you know what? I am completely in love with drawing with a simple ballpoint pen! No pencil underdrawings, no erasersβjust pure freedom. I really enjoy this process so much. ποΈ
And also... spring is finally here! The birds are already singing, and I can't wait for the fresh greenery. In our unpredictable world, it's these simple things that bring so much inspiration and energy to create. β¨
How is your spring mood? Have you ever tried sketching directly with a pen? π

Relaxing Botanical Art
Today my morning started with a 2-hour academic drawing class. βοΈβοΈ I'm currently taking these lessons once a week with a very lovely girl. She recently started grad school, she's a sculptor, and I think she's simply a genius at it! Inspired by our lesson, I even managed to do a bit of sketching.
And in the evening, when the power was already cut off (just a reminder, I live in Kyiv, and power outages are our reality), I sat down to do some crafts. To be honest, a real moment of happiness happened for us recently β the electric transport started running in the city again! π Specifically, my favorite trams. They hadn't been working for almost 2 months, and it was so hard to get to work. By tram, my commute is just 15 minutes without traffic, but without them, the trip took up to an hour and a half.
In the evening, in the dim light, I did some crocheting and finished my experiment β I've never crocheted lace onto a towel before! π§Ά I usually only made doilies. My experience in crocheting isn't huge, but I love it so much, and I truly rest during this process.
This year I wanted to do a few cozy projects for my home. I bought a table runner for the New Year made of regular cotton canvas, and now I want to decorate its edges with lace, and maybe I'll come up with something else. And I also really want to crochet a pillowcase! πΈπΏ
The thing is, I want to put it on the chair where I sit and paint my botanicals. I fell in love with one incredibly beautiful pillow (I attached a photo of it!), but so far I haven't had much luck finding the exact pattern for it. I found one on Pinterest, tried to crochet using it β but the pattern didn't match the picture at all! A total "expectation vs. reality" moment π
Maybe some of you have crocheted one like this or know where to find the right pattern? I would be so grateful for any tips! πͺ‘
And how is your weekend going? What do you like to do in your free time away from work? Share in the comments! π

It feels like spring is already outside the window β just the way we all love it when nature awakens! I absolutely adore spending a lot of time outdoors right now, soaking in this beautiful spring mood. βοΈπ±
How did you like the second part with the orchid leaves and roots? Have you had a chance to watch it yet? πΏβ¨
Orchid Sketchbook Studies πΏ: www.youtube.com/playlist?list...
My orchid is already in full bloom! Part 3 is definitely coming soon. Life sometimes makes adjustments to our schedules, so the final video will be out a little bit later. I want to take my time and catch the perfect inspiration to paint these beautiful flowers. πΈ
In the meantime, if anyone hasn't seen the first two parts yet, I would be so happy if you checked them out! The final part is coming soon, and we will finish this sketchbook spread together. Thank you for being with me! ππ¨

Hello everyone! π Thank you to everyone who is waiting for the next video with my windowsill orchid. To be honest, this plant is driving me crazy!
Itβs almost fully in bloom now β two flowers are already open. I want to wait for the third one to open so I can film the final process. So yes, there will definitely be Part 3! β¨
But TOMORROW I am posting Part 2! πΏ
You will see how I painted the leaves and roots. I really loved painting on this paper with such a rough texture. I am so happy with it! This is my old sketchbook, and I really hope to buy more of this paper in the future. Itβs incredible how it holds water and lets the watercolors flow. Itβs such a nice, relaxing feeling. π¨
Who is ready to relax and enjoy the painting process this weekend? π

My Palette Secret π¨β¨
Today, a little peek into my workspace. I work with two professional palettes:
Sennelier for vibrant, luminous shades.
Michael Harding in my pink palette for rich, deep pigments.
Iβm so grateful to my friend for this gift! Iβve been using these for years. I love watercolor for its transparency, versatility, and how efficient it is β just a little bit of paint goes a long way.
Even without the tubes in frame, these professional paints are the heart of my realistic botanical art. πΏ
Do you prefer one brand or a mix? Letβs chat in the comments! π

It was the morning of January 28th. I was watering my orchids when I noticed how beautifully the light hit the unbloomed buds. I just knew I had to capture that moment. πΏ
I grabbed a sketchbook that had been gathering dust on my shelf for a long time. To be honest, I hesitated to use it because the paper is very rough β a texture I had never tried for realistic botanical watercolor before.
But the inspiration was stronger than my fear! I started drawing, and while painting that first bud, a new idea was born: let's fill the whole spread.
I hope this new series brings you warmth, positivity, and a chance to relax. π€
Part 1 is coming this Saturday!

Filming videos has become a real challenge lately. I used to chase inspiration, but now Iβm chasing sunbeams and electricity just to edit in time. π€οΈπ
But Iβm so happy I have this hobby (and my fluffy assistant!). Art saves me from gloom and sadness.
Good news: The new video with this tulip π· is in the final stages of editing. Posting it soon β if nothing interferes! π€
Thank you for watching and supporting my channel! β€οΈ

A little life update π―οΈ
Hi friends. I wanted to explain why the new video is delayed.
To be honest, it is getting harder to film right now. The situation with electricity in Kyiv is very difficult again β we live without power for more than 20 hours a day.
I really wanted to keep the active rhythm I started in December, but I have to slow down. I can only paint when there is natural daylight, and the winter days are short.
But I am not giving up! I am working slowly, stroke by stroke, to finish the new cozy vlog for you.
Thank you for waiting for me and for your warm words! It means a lot. β€οΈ
P.S. If you want to support me and Masya during these dark times, you can treat us to a coffee (or a yummy snack for the kitty) here:
