Acclaimed photographer Thandiwe Muriu had an artist talk and book signing event last Saturday at the Circle Art Gallery.

For over a decade, since I’ve known her, Liboi has stayed committed to her craft. Honing, experimenting, learning.

Last Wednesday, she took another step in her journey. She hosted her community at Munyu Space in Westlands for an exclusive listening experience of her forthcoming debut album, ‘Hatua’.

The album’s presentation mirrored the work and care that went into it. In the two years of its making, what began as a kalimba project evolved into a concept-driven 12-track album.

Friends and fans gathered, pamoja na part of her team and collaborators – Komora, Modest Chabari, Gaitho Kamau, Muhonja, and Wd Abbo – for a communal celebration of music. It was an intimate evening filled with reflection, love, and cheer.

‘Hatua’ comes out on August 28.

'In the Seashell Hum' is the latest play by award-winning author and poet Adipo Sidang'. It tackles the complexities of mental health through the layered story of Baraka, the embattled protagonist whose chaotic mind and distorted reality shape his constant struggles.

The play premieres tomorrow night, May 15, and runs until Sunday, May 17, for a total of 5 shows.
