Hello. I’m Aurelius, an Australian creator living in Sydney.
Many of you may have heard about the heartbreaking incident that occurred here on the 14th of December, 2025. To those of you overseas who are seeing this I want you to know that Australia is not defined by moments like this and is not normal for us. We are, at our core, an accepting and diverse people, no matter who you are or where you come from. Politics and headlines can make it feel as though we are divided, when in reality most of us are just living our lives, sharing the same worries, hopes, and sense of home. To the Australians who know me, I stand with you in the grief, anger, and heartbreak many of us are feeling.
I’m making this post partly because I felt it was important to acknowledge what has happened, but without adding to the noise or outcry. I also want to address all the people who have reached out to me. Far more people than I expected reached out to check in on me through DMs, calls and comments/chats. I have NOT been posting recently simply because life has been busy, and I’ve been working on my end-of-year project for this channel. Not because I was anywhere near the incident.
Thank you to everyone who took a moment to check in. It genuinely means a lot to me because it’s a reminder that most people are kind, caring, and thoughtful. That care matters more than ever, and it’s exactly the kind of energy this world needs right now
