I want to do a bit of an experiment.

In the new year, I'm going to be changing things up slightly on this channel. Main videos will still focus on Easter Eggs and the occasional Quest from games like Warcraft, Cyberpunk, The Elder Scrolls, and Fallout... But I am going to take a step back from the Lore videos. By far, they take the most effort to create, and I think my limited free time should be going into creating the explorations of Easter Egg and Quests that people seem to like the most!

BUT, I won't be leaving Lore behind completely! I love Lore, so we are going to be experimenting with a Shorts strategy. I am going to be working with an editor to help create Shorts which will let me cover bite sized bits of Lore content while also expanding the reach of this channel... this will let me jump further into a much wider variety of IP to satisfy my own creativity while also delivering the core, lengthy content that you guys want!

I wanted to communicate this to you all, if you see an uptick in Shorts content in 2025 and wonder where full videos are. They're still coming!

A long overdue communication...

Long and short of it? New videos WILL be coming, but they will also likely continue to be slow. But they WILL happen.

Hello all. My name is Lee, if you didn't know. I am sure you have noticed updates on this channel have grinded to a halt. But, I promise there's a good reason for that... Since June of 2022, I have been the Creative Director for ‪@FilmTheory‬, a full time job that has taken much of my time and energy. I have a long, storied history with the Theorists, having worked with them for almost a decade now. And, I am pleased to announce that, effective March 9th, I will be stepping into the role of THE Film Theorist. It is a honor and privilege to be given this responsibility from Matt, Stephanie, and all the others at Theorist, and one I do not take lightly. I will do my best to earn it.

As a result, though this channel IS a passion project, it will also have to take a backseat to this other work. That being said? I am so happy that I get to continue my adventures through Azeroth, Tamriel, Faerun, the Galaxy Far, Far Away, and beyond. It will take time, but I promise that I haven't forgotten about all of our shared love of these worlds. In fact, I have so many projects at some point of production... Westfall Secrets has been written and all of the footage captured. I have the footage for multiple new quest videos captured, but no script written yet. I'd love to get on the grind of Easter Egg Shorts again. These things just take time, and I am in a very transitional moment in my life.

But what I want to say most of all... Thank you. Thank you for your patience. Thank you for your understanding. Thank you for being as passionate about these worlds as I am. I am so proud of this little community we've cultivated, and I can't wait to keep exploring with you all.

Full Motion Videos

Hello all! I hope you have enjoyed the new videos as much as I have had fun making them! I am attempting to find a better Work/Life balance between my full time job, relaxing, and my hobbies, including this channel. As a result, I'm hoping that means a lot more regular frequency of content here, both Short Form and Long Form... with some Livestreams sprinkled in here and there. Still figuring out how I want to do that. I am not going to promise or suggest any cadence on the rollout of those videos; I fear I won't be able to keep it up. Just know that I AM working on them.

And that also includes expanding our horizons! Along with our regular Warcraft themed content, I am going to be continuing to explore other worlds. Some of the most successful videos we've had here have been about Star Wars and Avatar, both worlds I want to return to and soon! Additionally, we will continue our adventures in Skyrim, Cyberpunk, and Mass Effect, as well as others you'll soon see. First up is actually going to be Smash Bros, because who doesn't love some Smash? I hope you'll enjoy it all, and maybe find some new stories you didn't know you loved! :)

Finally, we're going to be trying something a bit different in the coming weeks... Alongside our Secrets and Quest videos, we're diving back into Lore. Keep an eye out. I really like how this script turned out, and it will allow for a LOT of videos covering areas I hope you find as nostalgic as I do.

Hey, all! Excited to announce that a new, 35+ minute Warcraft video covering a classic quest from Wrath of the Lich King should be completed by the end of the week, for release this weekend! This one has been on my to-do list for actual years at this point - I think I recorded the footage back when Shadowlands was still new and Wrath Classic was on the horizon. But, several factors in my life and career just meant that I didn't have any time to voice or edit it. So, tune in this weekend, and I hope you enjoy it!

Now on to some other business...

I wanted to say welcome and thank you for the growth this channel has seen over the past 6 months. Seeing all of the new faces and comments has been really heartening, and I appreciate all of the kind words you've offered. So, I wanted to communicate with you guys and let you know where I'm at with video, shorts, and more.

Firstly, what I wanted to talk about the most... Streaming. I wanted to run this past you all: I want to start streaming on this channel, hopefully in a way that matches the tone and content that we already make here while also letting you get to know me and let me interact more directly with you guys. What sorts of content would I stream? Well, obvious ones would be finding secrets in games like WoW, and going through quests so we can see experience the fantastic little stories within the games we love. This would also have the benefit of letting me capture footage while also still working! Other ideas: I'd love to do more laid back, self-contained concepts like Icebergs or Tier Lists, covering things I love... like a Mass Effect Squadmate Tier List, or WoW Starting Zone Tiers, or a Star Wars Iceberg. We could also dive into sourcebooks like the Exploring Azeroth series or equivalent content for other IP, to share the ideas within those books with people who can't buy them. More traditional Let's Plays could also be fun too - I've never played Diablo, and could catch up on that. Starfield is coming out soon and it's one of my most anticipated games. I'd love to experience it with you guys! Thoughts on this? Other ideas?

Secondly, Shorts. They are doing really, really well and have driven thousands of new people to discover the channel. I know they're not the sort of content that everyone loves, but they have been so helpful in growing our community that I want to keep making them. They're also so much faster to produce... they can take me an afternoon from conception to release, and that's HUGE. So, I'm going to continue making those, and diving more into cool stories and lore. :)

Finally, long form Videos... the big one. I have SO MANY ideas. And a ton of scripts written. Sometimes they just take so long to record... the voiceover is one of the most exhausting parts of the process. But I promise they're coming! I am unhappy with my output, and would love to get to a point where I can release one 15 minute video a month, building from there. That's not a promise - just a goal. Thank you for your patience on this. I hope the Shorts and Streams (if you're into that!) will be able to supplement the videos until I can increase the output. :)

Hello all! Just because I know everyone always wants the juicy stuff first... The next World of Warcraft QUEST video's script is 100% written and ALL of the footage is captured. I just need to voice it over and put it together. Plus, I am knee deep in capturing footage for the next World of Warcraft SECRETS & EASTER EGGS video! Thank you for your patience on these... just capturing the footage can sometimes take days. But, progress is being made, and I hope I can get a lot of content up for you in the coming months. :)

Speaking of a lot of content... If you haven't noticed the one or two that have already gone up, I am going to start uploading SHORTS content. Now, before we say anything else on the matter: I know this format is not for everyone, especially for a channel whose backbone is long, sometimes multi-hour content. I don't want you to worry... those sorts of videos are NOT going away. I love watching it and I love making it. I want to keep doing that. And I apologize in advance that it will likely show up in your subscription feeds. I wish there were a more elegant way to push that out without bothering EVERYONE.

But I want to be transparent with you... YouTube has shifted towards rewarding channels for short form video. I've seen viewership numbers skyrocket, which has a knock on effect for your other videos. Long form is never going away, but short form video is the new trend. And honestly, I think it's an amazing tool. I have SO MANY ideas for Shorts content that I could write in half an hour and edit in an afternoon rather than over several weeks. Plus, Shorts are a way to find incredible growth, which will hopefully translate into more eye balls on the longform content, which will eventually let me hire editors to help make this stuff far more quickly.

This shortform format is going to allow me to talk about things I love that I'd never thought I'd find a way to. Stuff that might not interest many viewers, but WOULD find an audience in the Short Feed. For example, I've wanted to talk more about Marvel, DC, Mass Effect, Dune, Star Trek, Zelda, Blade Runner, Lord of the Rings, Wheel of Time, Mistborn.... Especially with House of the Dragon going right now, I'd LOVE to talk about the lore of A Song of Ice and Fire / Game of Thrones. But, there are so many amazing, longform content creators that have well tread that land. I didn't think it was worth doing those things AGAIN when you could just go watch an ‪@AltShiftX‬ or ‪@QuinnsIdeas‬ video. But with Shorts? I can talk about my favorite tidbits of lore! And then, some day, all of that information could be compiled into a more traditional longform video. It's a win-win-win.

So, that's what's been going on. Other goals or ideas for the year? I'd love to stream, playing games I love and want to share with you guys. You'll also probably be seeing me pop up over on the Film Theorists (my day job is as Creative Director over on that channel). Maybe some other surprises to!

But until then... thank you so much for being with me on this amazing journey through the scifi, fantasy, and superhero worlds we all love. I am humbled to have you along, and I appreciate your patience as we get things moving again. :)

I've settled on the next area of World of Warcraft that I will be covering the Secrets of... the Howling Fjord! I will do my best to get this one out in January, though I do warn you that it may take some time!

In the meantime, I am almost done with the script for the next Quest - another Wrath of the Lich King classic following a conspiracy within the Borean Tundra. But, I wanted to as you:

WHAT ARE SOME QUESTS FROM VANILLA AND CLASSIC WOW THAT YOU WANT COVERED?

I'm sure Blizzard will keep servers up for Classic for quite some time, but I'd rather capture footage for as many quests as I can beforehand, just in case. :) The only one I have on my agenda is doing a full playthrough of the story of the Defias Brotherhood, going all the way from Northshire Valley to the Deadmines and beyond.

THANK YOU! And welcome to all of the new subscribers here, at the channel! :) Before we jump into things... whats the next zone you'd want to see the Easter Eggs from?

I've been working on YouTube for just about a decade now, and I know things can be a slow grind. I've also been unable to work or make new videos here for several months... So imagine my surprise when I log in and see that my analytics have EXPLODED over the past couple weeks since Dragonflight released. It's really humbling to see so many people watch my little videos exploring the lore of World of Warcraft and all of the Easter Eggs I loved finding as a kid playing this game.

I wanted to take this opportunity to say that I do have a LOT more planned for the future, but output might be slow for a bit. In June of this year, I joined MatPat over on the Film Theorists full time as Creative Director of that channel, and that job eats up a great deal of my time and my creative energy. Sometimes, its difficult to justify working on YouTube videos in my free time when I work on videos as my career. Additionally, my family experienced a personal loss in November of this year that really took up a lot of my time, so... this has been both an amazing and a challenging year for many reasons.

But I WANT to do more, especially after all of the kind words that have been said by fellow lovers of lore and secrets here on the videos. So, please look forward to more. I currently have TWO more Quest videos with all of the footage recorded that I simply have not had time to write scripts or record audio for. One is for another fantastic World of Warcraft quest, and another is for a super secret Skyrim quest that not a ton of people seem to know about! So please look forward to those... and while you wait, why not check out any of the videos I have covering other franchises? If you love Star Wars, Mass Effect, Lord of the Rings, Avatar, Zelda, or more... you'll find something to love. :)

In case you're wondering why the next video is taking so long... well, it's hands down the longest one I've worked on yet. But I promise it'll be worth it!

Also, just so you're updated, I've started a new full time position working as Creative Director on the Film Theorists channel here on YouTube. It's time consuming, but it's fantastic work with an awesome team and is providing so much security in my personal life. I started back on June 1st, and it's taken a minute for me to acclimate and fall into a rhythm, but we're getting there. One day, I'm hoping the resources it provides will let me do EVEN MORE content over here ;)

March is shaping up to be an exciting month for content on this channel! Right now, I'm planning a Batman lore video, a new World of Warcraft Quest video, and a HUGE Star Wars video that I've had in the works for over a year... after that, I'm sure we'll touch on some more Easter Eggs, and return to the lands of Skyrim or Hyrule. It's an exciting time!

Anyway, I hope you've enjoyed the Critical Role and Dungeons & Dragon content we've put up recently. Expect both of those franchises to enter our regular rotation. Again, I can't help but say that it feels good to have more to talk about than I have time to make. Someday I hope to change that and increase this channels output, but for now, we'll have to settle for 2-4 videos a month. :)
