Just saw the big news — Claude Fable 5 is coming back tomorrow for everyone!
It was temporarily taken down after some serious talks with the US government (mainly because it was too good at cybersecurity/hacking type tasks).
Now it’s returning with stronger safety filters. The good news: it’s available again globally.
The not-so-good news: For the next few weeks, a lot of normal coding and debugging tasks will fall back to the older Opus 4.8 model. Also, usage is limited (around 50% of your weekly limit), and it might go to the credit system soon.
Anthropic says they’ll keep improving the filters so normal work doesn’t get blocked unnecessarily.

After the sudden shutdown on June 12, they just announced that Mythos 5 (their strongest cybersecurity model) is being restored for US critical infrastructure organizations.


Fable 5 is still not back for general use yet, but they’re actively working on it.
