"ભારત કુમાર" મનોજ કુમારને ભાવભીની શ્રદ્ધાંજલિ
(૧૯૩૭ – ૨૦૨૫)

ભારતીય ફિલ્મોના પરદે દેશપ્રેમને જીવંત બનાવનાર અને “ભારત કુમાર” તરીકે ઓળખાતા મનોજ કુમાર હવે આપણા વચ્ચે નથી. આજે ભારતીય સિનેમાનો એક ઐતિહાસિક અધ્યાય પૂર્ણ થયો છે.

મનોજ કુમારે “શહીદ”, “ઉપકાર”, “પૂરબ ઔર પશ્ચિમ”, “ક્રાંતિ” જેવી ફિલ્મો દ્વારા માત્ર એક અભિનેતા તરીકે નહીં, પણ ભારતીય સંસ્કૃતિના અભિમાનરૂપ ચહેરા તરીકે સ્થાન મેળવ્યું હતું.

તેઓ ફિલ્મોમાં માત્ર અભિનય નહીં કરતા, સંદેશ આપતા. ખેડૂતો, જવાનો, સંસ્કાર અને રાષ્ટ્રપ્રેમના વિષયો પર આધારિત તેમના દૃશ્યો આજે પણ લોકોના દિલમાં જીવંત છે.

"મૈં એક હિંદુસ્તાની હૂં, ઔર હિંદુસ્તાની બનકર હી જીના ચાહતા હૂં!"

"યે દેશ ફૂલોં કા નહીં, વીરોં કા ગુલદસ્તા હૈ!"

"કિસાન કી થાળી મેં કભી ભૂખ નહીં હોની ચાહિએ!"

"જો દેશ કે કામ ના આએ, વો ઇન્સાન કિસ કામ કા?"

"શહીદોં કી ચિતાઓ પર લગેંગે હર બરસ મેળે…"

આવા સંદેશભર્યા ડાયલોગ્સ એ તેમને માત્ર એક કલાકાર નહિ, પણ ‘વિચારોના વક્તા’ બનાવ્યા.

“ઓમ શાંતિ ઓમ” વિવાદ

૨૦૦૭માં રિલીઝ થયેલી શાહરુખ ખાનની ફિલ્મ “ઓમ શાંતિ ઓમ”માં મનોજ કુમારના યુવા અવતાર (ડુપ્લીકેટ) સાથે મજાક કરવામાં આવી હતી. મનોજ કુમારએ એવો દાવો કર્યો હતો કે તેમને એમના જ સ્વરૂપમાં જોવા મળતું દૃશ્ય અપમાનજનક હતું.

તેમણે ફિલ્મ સામે ફરિયાદ પણ નોંધાવી હતી. નિર્માતાઓએ પછીથી તદ્દન દૃશ્યો હટાવી નાખ્યા હતા. આ ઘટનાથી સ્પષ્ટ થયું કે—even in satire—his legacy deserves respect.

મનોજ કુમાર માત્ર ફિલ્મોનાં હીરો નહોતા, પણ ભારતીય ભાવનાનાં ધારક હતા.

"ભારત કુમાર" તમારું યોગદાન અમર રહેશે.
તમારું નામ ભારતીય સિનેમાની આત્મા તરીકે હંમેશા જીવંત રહેશે.
