Happy 100th birthday to the grandmother of JUNETEENTH, Dr. Opal Lee!
This amazing trailblazer helped make it possible for us to have a federal holiday to celebrate Juneteenth. It was an honor to be a part of her celebration tonight in Fort Worth, Texas. I cannot wait to come back and visit the National Juneteenth Museum.
Thank you for your sacrifice, leadership, and all of the amazing work you have done in our community. May God bless you with many more birthdays!

Reference drawing is an important skill in the creative process. ✏️ 🗒️
Sometimes, the best way to understand a design is to study what you see and draw it yourself. This helps you strengthen your observation skills, understand proportions and shapes, and train your eye to recognize the details that make a design work.
There’s so much value in learning by observing, studying, and recreating what you see. It helps build the foundation for developing your own creative ideas and becoming a stronger designer.

CY-FEST 2026 🍂 🌰
It was good to be back home at Lone Star College-CyFair for the Cy-Fest event! This was my first time experiencing this amazing event as an attendee.
During my time as a Falcon student, I was working on the weekends during this time of year, so I never had the opportunity to attend. For the past three consecutive years, I had the honor of serving as the Brand Ambassador for this event.
It was so good to return, see familiar faces, and enjoy the event from a different perspective. I’m grateful for the memories, experiences, and connections that Cy-Fest has given me throughout the years.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. 🎀
One of the logos I had the honor of designing was this breast cancer survivor ribbon logo, created to symbolize faith, strength, and triumph.
The most meaningful part of this design was incorporating the ribbon directly into the lettering. The “A” stands for Angie, and I incorporated the ribbon into the left stem of the “A” to create the illusion of the crossbar. I then designed the “T” in the shape of a cross, with its bars meeting the ribbon in the center to complete the full crossbar of the “A.”
Seeing how all of these elements came together and balanced beautifully within the typography was so rewarding. I love when I can take meaningful symbols and incorporate them into a design in a way that feels intentional rather than simply placing them on the outside of a logo.
Our joyful survivor was absolutely elated to see her vision come to life. With a well-thought-out design comes a happy client—and that’s the sweetest part of all.
