*THE GIRL IN MY MIRROR*

Each time I glance into the mirror—
She fainly creeps into the frame.

She caresses my wounds with such love—
Without affirming me as tame.

Even when she applies the bottled herbs—
My wounds don't hurt or sting or burn.

And when I ask her how she sets the pain apart—
She says, I yet have a lot to learn.

O' the girl in my mirror—
May I know your name?
Could you come out and live in my shadow's stain?

For,
Everytime I look into the mirror—
And you creep into the frame.
Though you are affectionate—
I can sense your desire to escape.

Stay by my side when I'm blessed or cursed—
And your debt of caging shall be reimbursed.

O' the girl in the mirror—
Come out the frame—
And stay in my shadow's stain.
Dwell freely in my joy and pain.
Come out the frame.
