Hi! Welcome to my channel :)

Here you'll find a large library of in-depth The Last of Us lore, discussion, and theory videos - as well as regular live streams of a range of different games. If you're new here I recommend you start with my series on the original/alternate story of The Last of Us - called "The Last of Us could've been very different"!

I aim to stream every:
Monday 06:00 PM CET
Wednesday 06:00 PM CET

As for lore &/ discussion videos on Tlou and topics beyond that, I will make them whenever time allows it!

I am not currently active on any social media, and there is no community discord server as of right now.
There was however an official TheiPadCat Discord server until summer of 2020, but it was hijacked by people I am not affiliated with. Do not join it.

EDIT: Welp, Naughty Dog confirmed it themselves like 15 miutes after I made this post... I guess it's time to make a video. www.naughtydog.com/blog/the_growing_future_of_the_…

So it seems PlayStation can't keep The Last of Us related things from leaking:

Still no confirmation that a p1 remake exists but it's now basically official as PlayStation accidentally posted a listing for the game, coming way sooner than I think most of us expected (sept 2:nd).
Check it out: kotaku.com/playstation-accide...

"...Enjoy a total overhaul of the original experience, faithfully reproduced but incorporating modernized gameplay, improved controls and expanded accessibility options. Plus, feel immersed with improved effects and enhanced exploration and combat..."

Considering I already made a video on the remake just a few months ago going over all of my thoughts on it I don't think this warrants an entirely new video. At least not until trailers and actual information start dropping, which I would assume is quite soon if the game is launching in less than three months.

What do you all think? I for one am super excited! For the remake, but also to sit down and overanalyze tlou stuff again.

Okay, breaking radio silence here for a bit of a rant/update - or something along those lines (wall of text incoming, you’ve been warned).

As I discussed in my latest video, Part II was a bit of a turn off- actually, more of a substantial turn off for me. And as those of you who watched it will know: as a result, I’ve felt completely out of it when it comes to anything tlou-related the past 6 months.
To be quite honest, I don’t think I’ve been this detached from the fandom since before I actually played remastered for the first time almost 6 years ago.

My point is not to mope about the game not being up my alley. Already did that enough during my playthrough and subsequent discussion video. Rather, it is to voice my frustration on what to do next. Because regardless of part II being a letdown (for me personally), I still love making videos. I’m itching to make more content - but I’ve painted myself into a corner both creatively and audience-wise by pretty much exclusively doing tlou content for 3 years.

Let me explain:

Yes, everyone on YouTube says the only videos you should make are the ones you *want* to make. Even I’ve said that on several occasions. And it is indeed the truth, one that I still believe in. But it’s not the whole truth, YT is also a social experience. Not just a creative outlet. The audience is important too. There has to be a compromise, even if personal passions have priority. That’s why (alongside other factors like university studies too ofc) I’ve only published a single video since the end of summer.

Could I have made regular tlou content with part II material since then? Absolutely.
But, as mentioned with the whole “do what you want thing” it would’ve become increasingly inauthentic since I wouldn’t have enjoyed it.

Could I have experimented with other content? Absolutely.
But here’s where the audience thing comes in. I’m so incredibly grateful for everyone who’s supported the channel all this time, even when I’ve been completely absent for long periods like this several times. Which is why I don’t want to feel like I let all you guys down by not providing what you came here for - what you supported me for.
I know how much it sucks when someone you follow just up and completely changes their whole thing.
It leaves me at an impasse: can’t make tlou content (or at least part II) cause it’s not what I want, and can’t not make it cause it’s my entire “thing”, and surely what pretty much all of you came here for.

So my question to you is: what would you like to see from me in the future? It could be anything, playthroughs of other games, lore/discussion videos on other games or even something different altogether. No suggestion is dumb and I appreciate all of them!

P.S
This doesn’t mean I’ll never make any tlou content, I do have some ideas I still wanna do that I’ve been sitting on for a long time - but that’ve been too huge of a task to actually go through with so far.

Okay so,

I’ve gotten quite a few comments over the past few weeks - but especially the last few days where people wonder why I’m taking so long finishing my The Last of Us Part II playthrough, and by extension going back to my regular content.

And it’s for one reason, and one reason only (one that I’ve cited in the comments before): my job. But since most people don’t come across those comments or understand why now all of a sudden it’s hard for me to do both YT and work, I figured I should explain it.

I work at a store that sells flowers and greens to other stores and markets. And since summer is usually off-season, my boss thought it was a good idea to go abroad and talk to his suppliers personally to push down prices for when it’s peak season. But of course since he still wanted his store open to earn what little money he can, he asked me if I could take care of things until he gets back. I of course thought being the boss a little while during off season wouldn’t be that hard and would look great on my resume, so I naturally accepted.

But since me and him are the two only permanent employees *and* the store is open every day - that meant I had to start working 7 days a week + two evenings when new deliveries come in on top of that . So as you might’ve figured by now, aside from leaving me constantly tired - it’s hardly given me a whole lot of time over for anything, working on YT being one of them.

I could never have imagined that pretty much at the exact moment I accepted to become temporary boss, would be when my channel started to grow faster in a few weeks than it’s done in the past 2.5 years.

But of course, It’s “lagen om all jävlighet” as we say in Sweden (basically means everything that can go wrong or be annoying will go wrong or be annoying/frustrating).
I’m not sure when he’ll get back, but until then the fact of the matter is that videos will just have to come out a lot slower. I know it’s kinda weird it’s almost August and I still haven’t finished my playthrough but that is the reason.

All I can say is, thank you all for the incredible support you’ve shown me during this past week or so. It’s been amazing to see this kind of growth, and I hope you can bear with me until I can get back to working more on my channel <3

With launch fast approaching, I’m wondering: do you guys still want a Part II playthrough on the channel?

The main reason I’m asking is that I’ve realised that I will not be able to pick the game up, nor play it for that matter until sometime during the week after launch. And by then, I suspect most of you will either have finished the game on your own, or watched some other YouTuber play it.

Regardless of what I do, regular lore content is still going to be pretty far off since I’ll have to get familiar with part II before I’m comfortable doing anything like that.

So it’s not a question of “playthrough or theory videos” - rather a “no playthrough and no videos/streams until I’ve played it enough in my spare time and reviewed it” or “playthrough and slightly longer until regular content is back (since playing the game and editing a series takes more time and effort than just doing it on my own) question.

Ultimately, I’ll of course decide myself. But please answer the poll down below and let me know what you think :)

With regards to the new Part II trailer, I think I probably need to reiterate what I said in my post the other day or I won’t hear the end of it.

I will not be making any The Last of Us Part II content until the game launches. The simple reason being that I got the game spoiled for me. Now I know a large portion of the community has been able to remain unspoiled and probably still want to analyse, discuss and break down every frame of this trailer. And trust me I would be right there with you if I hadn’t been spoiled.

I’d love to sit down and work on a massive breakdown video again just like I did with the release date trailer last year. But I’m just not able to do it. I cannot pretend to not know what I know and come up with “theories” and thoughts about it that just aren’t true. That’s not how I work.

I am considering potentially doing a livestream sometime very soon with a more, for lack of a better word, “shallow” breakdown without all the elaborate theories and analysis - to at least get to do this in some way one last time before the game drops. Though like I said, I’ve not fully decided yet.

(I’m still avoiding comments to not get spoiled further, I promise I’ll try to get back to everyone as soon as the game is out)

You wanna know something that really sucks? I’ll tell you:
Waiting for something for over half a decade only to have it spoiled less than two months before launch.

As I’m sure every single one of you know by now, authentic major Part II spoilers are circulating pretty much everywhere, and as suggested by the first paragraph I managed to get the game spoiled.

Now I imagine at least a few of you are waiting for me to do a video on all of this, but that’s not something I’m planning to do. I’ve decided not to cover the leaks nor part II in general until after launch. Both because pretending I’ve not been spoiled and making “theories” when I actually know how it goes down would be kind of hard, but also out of respect for the people who haven’t been spoiled.

As you also may have noticed, I’ve not responded to any comments lately. And I don’t think the reason is all that hard to understand. I just don’t want to be spoiled further, and if the same goes for you I’d advise you to stay away from any tlou comment sections.

As for the future of the channel, my “road to part II” series is all pre-recorded and will continue going up every other day for about two more weeks. After that, I’m not so sure. But I’ll get there when I get there.

Stay safe everyone, and watch out for spoilers.

I had no idea I had unlocked this feature :0 guess a good way to try it out is to inform everyone that I’m not gone or dead. Just irl stuff happening like usual, probably gonna be able to make a new video next week :)
