I am an academic economist from the UK who has long been critical of the economics profession and how economics is used in public policy. Mostly the channel will cover economics with a critical perspective but I aim to educate people about economics in the process, so I'll try to explain key concepts and ideas along the way. That way, even if you disagree with aspects of the videos you will hopefully learn something from them. I am interested in more than just economics and will likely do videos covering other topics such as statistics and politics.

You may have noticed that Thomas Sowell Part III is taking a long time...it is coming, and it will be long, and it will be great!
But I'm going to do a shorter video soon to tide us over...

I appeared on the srslywrong podcast to discuss (shock) the economy, they even let me do their little skits. It was really fun, hopefully it turned out well!

I've decided to do some more frequent, shorter, and more specific videos on my second channel. I've stated with a review of the book Abundance by Klein and Thompson, so check it out if you don't follow UE Live.
For those who missed the voiceovers, they're back! (It makes recording like 10x easier so I can make more of these videos).

I'd venture that most who've seen my AI video have also seen the Folding Ideas one, but a smaller YouTuber I'd like to shout out is @bradtroemel8796. His ZIRPSLOP reports are always excellent. I'm not sure I agree with everything, but it's definitely hitting many of the same notes I have.

I've enabled YouTube Membership after a lot of pestering from YouTube. It doesn't offer anything different from Patreon, but I appreciate some people prefer using it so it's worth having. I can also promise to reply to members' comments on here as they are highlighted for me! There is now a backlog of videos that were previously unlisted that are members-only: Modern Monetary Theory, behavioural econ, and most importantly a recent high-effort one I made about online toxicity. My Patrons really loved it so if you'd like a bonus, properly edited video but haven't previously signed up, consider joining!

PS Don't worry - the main channel will continue basically as before, AI video coming out before too long! Much love xoxo

Huge problems with tech and travelling that have stopped me streaming recently, apologies! We'll be back more consistently in September.
