Rant: Wow, has it been six months? Yup. First, thanks to all of you who have been messaging me privately & in Facebook, your support/friendship is truly awesome. And big thanks to @BowlersMart for all the support thru the years, they have been a faithful friend to me, thru thick & thin. For those following the channel, I just posted a ball review for the SWAG Black Dragon Pearl....and that ball friggin MOOOOOVES. Very unique core shape and it fits the house shot nicely. When bowling, I like this motion with the Motiv EXJ Jackal, as a 1-2 punch. On deck, I have to get videos done for the Roto Grip Gremlin, & the SWAG Craze Hybrid. I don't plan on covering the monthly ball releases unless something really catches my attention....mainly due to a strict workout schedule. So far, I've hit 110 workouts this year, and likely 65 to go. Trying to increase leg stength too, recently repped 700lbs (12 * 45lb plates, 2 * 25lbs plates, plus the 110lb leg press sled weight) about 6 times. Bowling is legs, so gotta get them strong!
What have you guys been doing all summer? Anyone else enjoying real life, touching grass or having loads of fun? Sound off below... /beans
Taking another break - Howdy friends. Thank you for continuing to support the channel. My health has had another setback & I just got t-boned by some crazy lady @ 45mph. My arm still hasn't really healed from the elbow tendon, and somedays it hurts to throw the damn ball. Right now, bowling youtube just isn't a priority for me. I'm going to step back again, maybe all of 2025.
Looking at the horizon, its not clear how I will proceed. So much content out there is so generic, and now more channels are in the space I created, the front side of the bowling product news cycle. Nobody knows how to be original anymore, most are fucking copycats who have zero flavor or uniqueness. But alas, I also expected this to happen as bowling has seen an unprecedented surge in online content. The environment is more competitive, and I knew from the get-go that eventually, people would go this direction. Pages of time turn, there are new players, and life goes on. Its even more competitive for ball reviews. Every time I turn around, 10 more channels are up and running. Not mad about this at all, it's just a crowded place to be at the moment. Bowling youtube used to be a niche thing, now its mainstream & a bit generic. Everything "hits like a truck", is "clean", and "carries", yada yada.
One thing is certain: I won't stop my studies of film/cinema work, and will continue to partner with people on content work where it makes sense. I love being behind the camera, and don't really want to be in front of it anymore. I have some really nice gear I've been wanting to test out, and I can't do that while also being in front of the camera.
Happy Friday! Recently had a monster practice session using #13 equipment, and I have to say, for no thumb bowling, it is a HUGE treat to be able to throw the stuff with all the revs and way less strain on elbow tendon than 14 or 15 lbs. TNT Infused is insanely good at 13lbs! Going to see if I can capture some footage this weekend and post on the channel. /rant
Whatup Ranters? For those of you who follow this channel and/or read this community section, first want to say "THANK YOU" for continuing to follow/support me. The amount of love I have received in my comeback after a much needed 2 month break has been incredible. Dozens and dozens of messages with positive affirmations of support came my way, very much unexpected. You have no idea how much it moved me. So, what have I been doing? Well, mostly lifting weights, adjusting to insulin, adjusted to diet (minus one cheat meal I love, the McDs QPC), and some actual bowling when I can get to the lanes. The good news is that I feel a ton better, but this lifestyle change is something I will be maintaining, so my time in the gym is #1. The bowling is a mixed bag, as my partial torn elbow tendon won't ever fully recover, and the nerve damage in my neck causes me to drop the ball when using my thumb at times. Just gonna keep at it and see how it goes. I did drill some 13# equipment for nothumb fun, and so far, very much liking the result. More to come... /rant
Sup fam! If you ever wondered what it's like to do a youtube channel, I can tell you it is a TON of work. Content planning, coordination for images, templates, sounds, ball drillings, getting lanes, etc. The past 11 days has been a nice beginning to an overdue break. I am however, still very much a bowler, just like anyone else. Today decided to drill a Virtual Energy Blackout, & a Hammer Blue NU. They will compliment the Idol Cosmos I drilled last week, to complete my no thumb bag. First complete no thumb bag I have had in a while. I can't wait to bowl tomorrow. #sesh#beans
Howdy friends. I've made a decision to take some time away from the weekly coverage of bowling ball releases/reviews this year. Message posted with details on a video I just released: https://youtu.be/rD0vNQq0uy8
Big thanks to you all of you who support the channel.
Hey team, happy February! Hope everyone is doing well gearing up for Super Bowl this weekend. Been very busy with life in general, hitting the gym 3-4 times a week, work is busy, just lots of life stuff. Also I just dropped a new Rant on the Brunswick releases & trying out a new format/look with my new camera/lens. Let me know what you think and if you like it!
I think this year is going to be a great year for transformation. One thing I am personally working on is my physical game, and I think I'm due for a new fit....its been a few years and my span has gotten shorter over time. Might try a longer span to see if it helps with my ball roll. Really want to focus on staying behind the ball.
What are you working on this year? Sound off! /rant
Happy New Year 2024! I hope everyone had an amazing holiday with friends and family alike. My holiday weekend was fun as I spent a good chunk of it posting on FB about the new balls BOB is about to release including the new Hammer Black Widow 3.0. Another one very excited about is the Scorpion Low-Flare. 5 balls total, and if BOB doesn't announce them soon, may just jump the gun and talk about what we do know as we head into a launch, estimated within a day to 2 weeks (best guess). Back to this Widow 3.0. Imagine a HK22 solid Widow! What say you? Would you want one? Sound off below...
