I love to upload lupin content. (rare/lost/obscure stuff, old things, scenes, shitposts, songs, german dub clips, translations, etc.)

If you have any requests (for example, you can't find a lupin song) just let me know. I'll try my best to help you. :)

Feel free to contact me on my Lupin III Club account. (Only for Lupin requests or if you want to send me stuff. Thanks.)

Hey thieves!

I've decided to take a break from obscure community posts again (not sure for how long) unless I discover the best shit ever and literally can't not make a post or video about it.
I don't want my posts to lose quality and since I'm almost at 60 posts, I hope I can find some interesting stuff by then.

If I do upload videos, I'd love to bring back some 2000s/early 2010s-style content. I just need to get my inspiration back.
I haven't mentioned it yet, but I've been planning a Lupin AU for a few months now and I'm thinking about turning it into a video series. It'll have that classic windows movie maker vibe (intentionally amateurish) but not like a shitpost. More like a genuine, nostalgic video project. I don't want to reveal too much yet, however I hope you'll like the idea.

Did you know there's a collection of lost mini fanmade Lupin games from the 2000s? Yesterday, I came across an old fansite, but unfortunately, not all of the games work anymore. Here's a brief explanation of what each game was:

1. It's a Lupin version of the popular word association game Magical Banana. It no longer works.
2. Not a game, but a form where visitors could share their opinions on current topics. Fans were asked what their thoughts were on Seven Days Rhapsody.

3. An interactive section where you could pretend to spend a day with Lupin and leave a funny experience in a guestbook.
4. A drawing board called oekaki, where fans could post their artwork.
5. A small interactive gif game with Goemon, offering ten different ending dialogues. The gifs no longer load.

6. A click game where Lupin says various lines. The site wasn't archived.
7. Similar to the Goemon game, but with Fujiko. The gifs don't work either.
8. A dress-up game with Lupin. It still works, though not perfectly. You have to choose items in the correct order to avoid a game over. Two items don't belong there. Here's a tip: you can click back to continue if you make a mistake.
9. Fukuwarai is a traditional Japanese game where you place eyes, nose, and mouth on a face. This was a Lupin online version, but only one image work.
10. A puzzle game where you reassemble cut-up images. Most images no longer appear.

11. An interactive text adventure with illustrations, where choices unlock different story paths. It barely works, but you can still read some parts of the story.
12. A Lupin version of Daruma-Otoshi. No images are loading.
13. A Lupin Breakout game, based on episode 114 part 2, where you destroy all the blocks using special effects and unlock a picture after each level. Nope, the images don't load either.
14. A Lupin memory game, which no longer works. What a surprise.

This shows a charming side of the early internet days and how creative people could be, even with limited resources and little experience. And yes, I was using Windows XP again.

Did you know there's a short Lupin film made for the Italian satire show Blob? Created by Mario Verger, it features the official cast, reuses some animations from parts 1 and 2, and also includes original sequences. The version on Youtube is a recap of the episode, which first aired in 1998.
https://youtu.be/kROQ_mBobU4 (This video is such a fever dream)
Mario Verger had already done extensive work with Lupin and actually made this video back in 1990. https://youtu.be/c-wn9vxYjXM (NSFW warning)
He even met Monkey Punch in the past! For more details, I'll be sharing a few screenshots from a user who helped me gather additional information. It might not be obscure for the Italian community, but it could be for others.

Did you know there's an interview with Kiyoshi Kobayashi from 2019? It's all in Japanese and I'll focus more on the Lupin parts. He mentioned how Makio Inoue wore a samue since he was the son of a priest. Goemon would surely be proud.
They asked why he got the role of Jigen. He said he had dubbed James Coburn in The Magnificent Seven. Because of that, they probably thought his voice fit Jigen perfectly, though he wasn't sure if Monkey Punch chose him for that reason.
Kobayashi also explained, "Back then, we'd get the script in the morning and record it the same day, finishing in about three hours. Then everyone would just throw the script away *laughs*. Now recording sessions have become longer. From around 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. It really depends on the director. It used to be faster."

He never recorded alone, always with the other actors. At first, the modern cast tried to imitate their predecessors' voices. He always told them, "Don't worry about the predecessor. Play Lupin as your own Lupin. Some, like Kurita Kanichi, sounded so similar that you couldn't tell them apart. Truly talented and considerate to their seniors."
This is so true and I love him for saying that.

Did you know there's also Spinnaker CDs for Part 2 and Cagliostro? Some of you might remember the Part 1 video I made some time ago: https://youtu.be/tKQiAVZ4hpY
The video is pretty self-explanatory, so I don't need to say much more. The other CDs are basically the same thing. Unfortunately, they're still not very well known in the community and no one has shared them online yet. I could only find low-quality pictures of the Part 2 CD. At some point in the future, I might pick up both CDs and upload videos unless someone is faster than me.

Speaking of CDs, I've got some good news! If everything goes well, I'll be getting another obscure CD soon. This time, I didn't have to spend as much money. I don't want to spoil the surprise, but wish me good luck and stay tuned!

Did you know there's an old Lupin Jr. fansite that's still up? It includes a full story summary of the manga, questions about whether Fujiko is the mother or not, Q&As, character introductions, classic fan art from other Monkey Punch media and much more.
It's kinda rare to find people who are into Lupin Jr., mostly because the manga is still pretty unknown. It's not my favorite Lupin manga and I get why Monkey Punch never continued it, but it had a lot of potential and the art style was really cool. If you're into oldschool sites, you should definitely check it out!

Did you know there used to be a bunch of Lupin Pachison back in the day? For anyone who doesn't know, Pachison were cheap, unofficial, and often sloppy cover versions of anime music that were sold in Japan during the 1970s and 1980s on cassette tapes or vinyl. Of course, they weren't legal.
They were even sold in supermarkets and candy shops, and many people fell for them thinking they were official albums. Some people have posted about how disappointed they were as kids when they realized it wasn't the real thing.
It honestly reminds me of the "we have Lupin at home" meme. I've come across a bunch of Lupin ones that seem to be lost or super rare.

Only a few of the covers can be found on Youtube:

Hallo, thieves!

I just wanted to apologize for not posting any obscure content on the community tab over the last two Sundays. I wasn't feeling too great the past few days. After receiving the rare Monkey Punch CD, something unpleasant happened in my private life and I didn't have the energy/time to post anything on Youtube.

I'm doing better now and feeling hopeful that things will get back on track. Starting this Sunday, I'll try to get back to posting obscure stuff on the community tab.

Also, a huge thank you for all the positive feedback on the rare CD (whether on Youtube or Discord) It was a real honor for me to share such a rare piece with you all~

Here's a digital Monkey Punch signature I found a while ago!!

Did you know the Hardyman German dub lore is endless? Since this is my 50th post, I felt like talking about Hardyman again. Most of you are probably familiar with the infamous Cagliostro dub; if not, please check out my videos or older community posts. I've already covered a lot and have been researching this dub for years. The first image is from "Videoplay Das Video Programm Magazin 8 - August 1987". It was a promo for the VHS.

Have you ever wondered why Lupin is called Hardyman in the German dub? Well, I might have found an answer. Believe it or not, the CEO who released the dub (a guy named Franz Josef Stockmann) is actually mentioned in a Playboy magazine from 1979. Yes, before the dub even existed. And if the CEO is being mentioned in that kind of magazine, I think we can all guess where the name Hardyman came from...
It's difficult to find more information on Stockmann. The fact that one of the only few records I could dig up is a single Playboy mention is the funniest shit ever.

It says:
Most of the time, things are as peaceful and harmless there as on the ship owned by Bochum school textbook publisher Franz-J. Stockmann, who is known for his generous invitations, but his parties are all about heavy drinking and nothing else.
(Yes, he was also CEO of a school textbook company. And owning a ship means the dude was probably rich af.)

He passed away in 2019 and I wasn't a Lupin fan yet, that's why I couldn't reach out to him for more information.

Last year, I was able to get a rare cinema poster of Hardyman. I've posted it before, but I haven't translated it yet, so here we gooo~

The Hunters of Cagliostro
The most exciting animated film
2350 m โ€“ 85 minutes

The story:

Convoys of cars on a winding mountain road. A girl in a wedding dress is driving a car while being chased by gangsters.
Hardy Man (yeah, they spelled his name like that) and Dan Dee are also on the way and able to help her once, but then she was kidnapped by a gang on a speedboat.
Her ring stayed with Hardy Man, and this ring shows that she is the daughter of Prince Cagliostro, Princess Yasmin. (Okay, here's already another mistake. Her dad was the Grand Duke of Cagliostro, not a Prince.)
Hardy had once before been at Castle Cagliostro in search of mysterious counterfeit money. During that time, he was captured, but a little princess and her dog Charly came to his rescue. (I wouldn't say he was captured, he was just injured??)

A fire has killed the prince and his wife, and the young princess is supposed to marry her evil cousin, Count Cagliostro, who now rules the land. (EVIL COUSIN??? WHAT THE FUCK???)
His heavily guarded castle stands in the middle of a lake. Princess Yasmin is being held captive in the tower.

Hardy manages to get into the castle. Police Inspector Ed Scott from Interpol is already waiting there for him, but Cagliostro sets a trap for Ed, and he disappears into the dungeon of the castle, just as many have vanished over the centuries.
Hardy Man reaches the tower, returns the princess's ring and promises to rescue her. But in the next moment, the count and his hunters surround him, and he is thrown into the dungeon with no return to Ed Scott.

But the ring he had slipped to Yasmin was a fake, and the count sends the hunters to search Hardy for the real ring.

He takes the opportunity with Ed and escapes from the dungeon. In the process, they come across the large underground printing press where counterfeit money is being produced. The two set it on fire and flee.

Cathrin, who works as a maid in the castle, is searching for the counterfeit money as well. She also discovers the secret and is just about to free the princess when the smell of smoke and fumes spreads through the castle. The hunters have to extinguish the fire. Hardy and Ed manage to take the count's helicopter and fly to the tower of the princess. They are able to take Cathrin with them, but Yasmin remains in Cagliostro's hands.

Hardy has been injured; the old gardener, who also takes care of Yasmin's dogs, hides him and helps him recover.

A few days later, the Count's wedding with Yasmin is set to take place โ€” an event that will be broadcast worldwide on television. Hardy, disguised as an archbishop, gets hold of the two mysterious rings the Count desperately wants. Cathrin plays the role of a TV reporter, and Ed leads the TV camera to the underground printing press. A mountain of counterfeit money is shown to the whole world.

This leads to a relentless battle between Hardy and Cagliostro. When the count wants to kill the princess, Hardy offers him the two rings in exchange for Yasmin's life. The count agrees, but fools him again.
The Count takes the rings, which are supposed to lead him to untold riches, to a strange castle in the tower's great belfry. But then the tower explodes, the waters of the lake recede, and from the depths a mysterious Roman city rises. This marks the end of Cagliostro, along with his hunters and his empire.

Peace returns to Yasmin, the gardener and Charly the dog. But peace is nothing for Hardy Man, who must head out again, with Ed Scott on his heels

THE MOST EXCITING ANIMATED FILM
THIS ANIMATED FILM FOCUSES ON ACTION AND SUSPENSE

Cars, planes, and speedboats chase each other like in big action movies ร  la.....

Crazy guys fight with wit and charm, so that romance and beauty aren't neglected.
Magnificent images delight the eye and the music goes down like honey.
A completely different film โ€“ not necessarily cute, but more for boys and girls of today, from 8 to 14 to 25 years old and anyone who can still feel that way.

....I love how they spoiled the full movie.

Did you know that a Youtuber has uploaded a lot of older, obscure, and rare Lupin commercials? The videos even include sponsor announcements. Maybe it's not that obscure for Japanese fans, but since most of the comments are in Japanese, I don't think most non-Japanese speakers know about these videos.
A big shoutout to @ๅŒ—ๆตท่ป’ (ไปฎๅบ—่ˆ—) drop a sub if you want to see more!
