Hey friends, I just wanted to let you know that from today onwards, I will be working under the stage name “KVNDRA” instead of “Miles Kvndra.” This has been on my mind for a while, so I would like to share my thoughts with you:

As many of you may not know, my real first name is not Miles, but Milan. My parents named me after the famous Czech author Milan Kundera, whose work I greatly admire. So the stage name "Kvndra" (pronounced Kundra) is a direct connection and tribute to my roots and my father, who I lost this year and who had a special connection to Milan Kundera's work as well. Miles is a nickname I gave myself some time ago when I was still working under a different stage name and then I just made the connection.

Although I have absolutely nothing against the nickname Miles, for me it doesn't fit with the connection between my real name and the stage name KVNDRA. Since I want to emphasize this connection more in the future, I have decided to drop Miles and only perform under KVNDRA. This will not change my artistic, musical or educational direction. I will apply this change in the next couple of weeks and months on various platforms. This also means I will have to change a lot of links and hyperlinks, so if you experience a link that isn't working anymore, it's due to the renaming (and if you could let me know that would be fantastic so I can adjust the links).

You are welcome to continue calling me Miles. You are also welcome to call me Milan. Or KVNDRA. Or that dude who made this Dune track. Whatever you want.

As I’m winding down the year, I also wanted to take this opportunity to thank you for being around. It’s been a crazy year with lots of ups and downs and I’m extremely greatful for this community of passionate music lovers, that I am part of and that I want to strengthen even more in the next year. But for now, I’m wishing you, your families and loved ones a lovely Christmas time (if you celebrate it) and some calm days.

We dive deep into how AI tools like SynthPlant are reshaping sound design and creative workflows. We discuss mastering the art of prompting, choosing AI platforms that align with your values, and navigating the ethical implications of this technology. From data usage concerns to the authenticity of AI-generated music, we're trying to share our thoughts and getting a clear vision. This still is the Wild West of AI in music tech right now, but I think this makes it even more important to navigate the space thoughtfully. Would love to hear your thoughts on this!

On the way home from another fantastic Berlin weekend. Hosted my first in person music making workshop at the ‪@Ableton‬ HQ together with my friend Mordio. Such an awesome experience with human connection, learning together and many good talks. Also found some space in between for music making (swipe), Mordio and I are ready for an improvised b2b ambient set now.

Thanks to the Ableton team and especially Johannes for the great support and all the lovely people in the course for being such an awesome group to work with. I really value these in person community interactions and it was great to hear in the feedback that people felt the same. Feeling blessed and thankful. 💜

Hey friends, two days ago I managed to record my best live set to date. Not only did I record with new equipment (I have a new Fuji X-H2S and a new ceiling camera mount, adding a crystal clear top-down perspective for this and future videos) but I also took the set material I prepared for my Berlin gig and played it in a more experimental, free way. Some of these experiments worked as planned and some took me to patterns I wasn’t expecting but that’s the new beauty I found and am still finding in more improvised live sets.

What a set, in what a location: at the first „Demonstration of the arts“ in Cologne my friend ‪@fabianlaute‬ (who you know from his amazing breakdown here on the channel) played a full improvised live set while rolling on a wagon through the streets of Cologne ending at the legendary Kolbhalle. It truly was an epic live experience and it takes a high level of mastery to improvise a set like this. Enjoy 💜

Hey friends, Working on two very different live sets at the same time feels somehow strange but also very rewarding. After "Shelter" I'm super happy to play my Melodic Techno Set with Ableton Push 3 and the Moog Sub 25 in only 1 1/2 weeks at the Sonic Playground festival in Berlin. Hey friends, Today I'm super excited to share that I'm hosting an in person workshop together with ‪@MordioMusic‬ at the Ableton HQ in Berlin - and we'd love you to be a part of it! In the beginner-friendly workshop we want to get the ease back into music making and help you to make a full song in two days: On Day 1 we focus on intuitive music creation and idea generation with Ableton Move & Push 3. And then on Day 2, we dive into Ableton Live to further refine, arrange, mix, and export your first complete track.
