विल्सन बर्ड-ऑफ-पैराडाइज़ (Wilson’s bird-of-paradise) सबसे अजीब पक्षियों में से एक है, फिर भी यह सबसे खूबसूरत पक्षियों में से एक है जो इंडोनेशिया के घने जंगलों में पाए जाने वाला पक्षी है।

इसका वैज्ञानिक नाम डिफाइलोड्स रेस्पब्लिका (Respublica) है,जो republic शब्द से लिया गया हैं । यह नामनेपोलियन बोनापार्ट (Napoleon Bonaparte)के भतीजे, चार्ल्स लुसिएन बोनापार्ट (Charles Lucien Bonaparte) ने दिया था, उन्होंने इस प्रजाति का नाम गणतंत्र का सम्मान करने के लिए चुना।

ब्राजील में जीवाश्‍म बन चुके डायनासोर के अंडों का घोसला मिला है। बताया जा रहा है कि ये अंडे 6 करोड़ साल पुराने हैं। ये अंडे मिट्टी में दब गए और बाद में जीवाश्‍म बन गए। डायनासोर के इस घोसले में 5 अंडे मिले हैं। पहले माना जाता था कि ये अंडे प्राचीन घड़‍ियाल के हैं लेकिन जांच करने पर इनकी असलियत सामने आई। यह घोसला ब्राजील के साओ पाउलो शहर शहर के प्रेसिडेंटे प्रूडेंटे इलाके में मिले हैं। जो डायनासोर के अंडे है।

The Zanzibar red colobus is a monkey that lives only on Zanzibar, an island off the coast of Tanzania, East Africa. They are an endangered species with no more than 3000 left in the wild. The people of Zanzibar hold negative views of the animal and call them `poison monkey' because of their unusual smell.

अजन्ता गुफाएँ महाराष्ट्र, भारत में स्थित तकरीबन 29 चट्टानों को काटकर बना बौद्ध स्मारक गुफाएँ जो द्वितीय शताब्दी ई॰पू॰ के हैं। यहाँ बौद्ध धर्म से सम्बन्धित चित्रण एवम् शिल्पकारी के उत्कृष्ट नमूने मिलते हैं। ... यह गुफाएँ अजन्ता नामक गाँव के सन्निकट ही स्थित है, जो कि महाराष्ट्र के औरंगाबाद जिले में है। इसे 1983 में यूनेस्को की विश्व विरासत सूची में शामिल किया गया ।
