I've been contemplating doing Christmas movie watchalong streams but I likely won't be able to do it over YouTube. I'd probably test with Rumble since more streamers have more luck there. I wonder if Kick would allow it? People are pushing for a move to stream over Facebook, with promises of better payouts for creators, but I thought Facebook was steadily declining/dying into nothingness. A platform left for Boomers and Gen X to share family photos and talk about their careers. I don't know. Maybe I'll do a couple test streams to Facebook and test the waters.

Sorry I've been streaming less as of late. Been all over the place trying to get stuff together for Christmas, from picking up stuff to wrapping it all. I think overall did a. decent job. I try and shop throughout the year, but there are a few gifts I wished I'd gotten done but didn't, so I'll shoot for 2026 Christmas and/or Birthdays.

OK, update time. So about a week ago, my system went down again. And yes, this is the Mac Pro tower. Even though I fixed the disc errors previously on the boot volume running Mac OS X Mojave, and even though the drive was supposed to be in good shape. I’m starting to wonder now if maybe the smart status has degraded and that there’s something deeper because now the system is refusing to boot. Period.

Been troubleshooting it on and off the last few days and even when I remove the boot volume to try and let the other hi Sierra volume up it’s not happening. Very curious. So I’m back to swapping out video cards and trying different things. I’m even having trouble now Even getting the system to boot off of CD. Unfortunately, I did not go and create an emergency boot volume for Mojave as I intended.

Also had some other stuff going on IRL that took time. Had to replace a couple tires on the car, and now I am reminded once again that I needed to do the routine however many thousand mile maintenance soon. Everything cost money of course so just trying to prioritize.

I technically can return to using the MacBook Pro 2011 until I get the tower back up and running. I think ultimately I am going to have to install fresh copy of Mojave on another drive and use it as a primary. I’m concerned that the Dr. it’s on now has some sort of hardware corruption that the Dr. utility cannot address.

I had originally intended to live stream of more. Star Wars: The Old Republic, but something IRL came up I need to take care of, so I will likely not be streaming tonight, unless it’s closer to 12 AM or 1 AM Saturday. Otherwise, I will shoot for sometime Sunday for the next stream.

OK so none of my attempts to get Steam working again in MacOS X Mojave have worked. Maybe I'm not quite following the instructions they're providing but I can't get it to work.

So for the time being I'm using Windows 10 in Parallels Desktop as a workaround. Challenge there is I can't take advantage of my hardware.

Some of you may have caught my recent gaming livestreams. Fun stuff! Having a hoot with Star Wars The Old Republic.

Just disputed a copyright claim by YouTube's AI Algorithm which is such a joke. It sifts through peoples' livestreams and videos and searches for any and all music and then once it identifies the copyright owner, or what it THINKS is the copyright owner, YouTube flags your video or stream on behalf of them, or whoever they believe to be the owner. They claim in one of my recent livestreams that I had like an hour's worth of background music from BMG's KPOP Demon Hunters. Yeah right! How is YouTube gonna prove that?! Is the AI Algorithm smart enough to detect the original version of a song vs a cover of the same song? Doubtful. What are your thoughts on all this, where YouTube is too lazy to moderate content with humans and relies instead on inaccurate and wasteful AI.

Say what? Has it really been a month since I posted an update here? I'm so sorry if that's the case. I thought it was only a couple weeks, tops.

I'm trying to finetune my rig.

That previous stream was rather lame because when I attempted to test Star Wars The Old Republic it just so happened to coincide with a series of outages across multiple platforms. Steam and Battle.Net were impacted. Not entirely sure as to what the cause was. I'm guessing a DDoS Denial of Service attack.

OK this was strange. Supposedly the ability for viewers to post to Community was disabled? Don't remember that being a thing. Any way if you feel like posting something cool in Community tab do feel free to do so. Nothing hateful obviously. Funny stuff welcome!
