🩷 Welcome to February, Lovely Ladies!

I hope you’ve enjoyed the gentle videos shared throughout the month of January — it truly means so much to have you here with me. With all the engagement, thoughtful comments, and support you’ve shown recently, I just want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart. It’s hard to believe we’re already stepping into February, and I’m so excited for this new month ahead.

As we welcome February, I’m happy to share that the newest issue of The Lady of the House Legacy is complete. This month’s theme is Romanticize Your Life, and the pages are filled with soft encouragement to slow down, create warmth, and treat ordinary days as something worth savoring — even in the middle of responsibility, waiting seasons, and full schedules.

And I want to share something sweet and personal with you… for the first time in a while, my husband and I finally had some recent photos taken together. So I decided to feature he and I on the cover and throughout this February issue, highlighting the love and gratitude we feel toward one another in this season of life. It felt so fitting for February, and it truly made this issue feel extra special to create.

Even more meaningful, these photos were a little family effort — my hair was styled by my daughter Ayla, and the photos were taken courtesy of my daughter Kira. It makes these images feel even more special to me, and I’m looking forward to romanticizing life in a simple but meaningful way by printing and framing them and placing them around our home as little reminders of love and the life we’ve built together.

Inside this February issue, we’ll be reflecting on romanticizing the everyday, love in the little things, watering friendships, creating a softer home through atmosphere, feminine touches that make a home feel special, a love-filled menu, packing pretty for a getaway, a wardrobe for every season, and a faith-filled reflection in The Lady of Faith to steady the heart as we move through the month.

💕 As a token of my appreciation, I’m including a preview of the magazine and sharing one full article for you to enjoy. I hope it blesses you and gives you a little taste of what’s inside this month’s issue.

If you love the slower moments we share here on YouTube and find comfort in conversations about home and everyday life, I truly believe you would enjoy reading the full magazine each month.

The complete issue is available on Patreon for my Heiresses, where you’ll receive access to every monthly issue of The Lady of the House Legacy, along with exclusive videos and additional content I share only over there. And a quick little note for February — many of you have shared that wardrobe content is what you’re craving most right now, so a lot of the videos I’ll be posting this month will lean heavily toward wardrobe, feminine style, and closet inspiration.

You can join here:

And before you go, I would love to hear from you — what types of videos would you love to see from me next? Whether it’s wardrobe, homemaking, routines, seasonal living, hosting, or anything else, leave your suggestions in the comments. I truly enjoy hearing from you, and your ideas help guide what I create.

Thank you for being here. Welcome to February — may it meet you with softness, gentle rhythms, and beauty woven into the everyday.

With love,
Nikki

Happy Sunday, ladies
Lately it feels like my closet has been quietly asking for a little attention. It’s full of pieces I once loved, things that no longer suit my taste, or items I miss wearing simply because they don’t fit quite the same anymore. January feels like the right time to gently reassess—not just the closet, but a few hidden spaces in the bathroom too.

When the winter blues start to creep in, decluttering and organizing always seems to lighten my spirit, and that’s exactly what I’ll be doing in Monday’s video—a simple, unrushed reset of these everyday spaces. Jorge will also be sharing his two cents on self-care, which I know many of you will enjoy.

I hope you’ll join me 💐

🎊 Happy New Year, dear ladies!

I hope the start of this year has met you gently. I’ve just shared a new video here on the channel about choosing to replace doomscrolling with the lovely, life-giving art of journaling — a small shift that has brought so much more calm and intention into my own days. If you haven’t watched it yet, I think you’ll really enjoy it: https://youtu.be/tXQB7xo-Ta4

With all that December held — Vlogmas, appointments, and all the hosting — I’ll admit I was a little nervous that I wouldn’t be able to share January’s issue of The Lady of the House Legacy right on time. So it brings me such joy to say that it’s here, and it arrived exactly when it was meant to.

This new issue feels like a beautiful way to begin the year. The theme is The Beauty of What Blooms Next, and the pages are filled with gentle reflections on home, faith, and the quiet work of becoming as we step into a new season. We talk about easing into the year with intention, creating calm through thoughtful order, planning on paper, tending finances with clarity, and shaping our days in ways that truly support the lives we’re living now. There’s also encouragement for changing seasons of womanhood and a faith-filled reflection to steady the heart as the year begins.

If you enjoy the slower moments we share here on YouTube and find comfort in conversations about home and everyday life, I think you would truly enjoy this issue.

The full magazine is available on Patreon for my Heiresses, where you’ll receive access to each monthly issue of The Lady of the House Legacy, along with exclusive videos, printables, and additional homemaking encouragement throughout the year.

You can join here 🎉 www.patreon.com/inspiredbynikki

And before you go, I’d love to hear from you. If you feel comfortable, take a moment to introduce yourself in the comments and share one gentle goal or intention you hope to carry into this year. I truly enjoy getting to know the ladies who gather here.

Thank you for being here and for beginning this new year alongside me. However this season finds you, my hope is that it brings calm moments, thoughtful rhythms, and beauty woven into the everyday.

With love,
Nikki

The most unexpected thing happened today…

Just as the sun was setting, we pulled off into a little cove—the waves crashing against the rocks, everyone piling out of the van to admire the golden sky. I walked closer to the sea, soaking it all in, when suddenly Jorge knelt down on one knee… and asked to marry me. 💍

If you’re shocked, trust me—I was too.

This was a dream come true… just about two decades late. We’ve been married for over 21 years (this past October!), yet this was the very first time I had ever been proposed to.

When we were dating, I was young and impatient. I asked him what we were waiting for, and then asked him if he wanted to get married. Not exactly the fairytale moment I had imagined as a little girl. Over the years it became a running joke—me teasing him that he never actually proposed.

Well, tonight he finally did.

And as funny and sweet and unexpected as it was, it reminded me of something I want to share with you—especially those of you who grew up imagining everything unfolding a certain way, at a certain time, with all the perfect details falling magically into place.

Life doesn’t always look like the picture we painted in our minds.

Sometimes it’s out of order. Sometimes it’s messy. Sometimes the moment you longed for shows up twenty-one years “too late.” And yet… it can be deeply beautiful. Better, even, than what you imagined.

There is such joy in embracing the journey—not the perfect plan, not the ideal timing, but the real, living story God is writing with your life.

So here we are: married for 21 years, four children later… and I’m giddy, like a new bride-to-be. My brother captured the whole moment, and I’ll treasure it forever.

There may not be a ceremony ahead, but I do believe some bridal pictures are in order. The date has been set, and we’re even planning an official honeymoon—our first ever.

To every lady watching who feels like her milestones didn’t come “on time,” or in the way she imagined: take heart. Beauty has a way of blooming in the most unexpected chapters.

Here’s to love—past, present, and wonderfully renewed 💍💐👰🏻‍♀️🤵🏻

📚 What I’m Reading This Week
(No video this week — I’m on vacation with the family ✨)

With Thanksgiving just days away, I know so many of you are in that whirlwind of planning, prepping, shopping, and trying to make your home feel cozy and welcoming. It’s the week when the mental load gets *extra* heavy — the lists get longer, the pressure gets louder, and the comparisons start creeping in.

That’s part of why the book I’m reading right now — I Just Wish I Had a Bigger Kitchen by Kate Strickler — has been such a breath of fresh air. Not because I literally need more kitchen space, but because the heart of the book is about something much deeper:

✨ Finding contentment right where you are.
Loving the season you’re in.
Letting go of the habit of looking at what others have and feeling “less than.”

This week especially, it’s so easy to slip into thoughts like:
“Her kitchen is nicer.”
“Her holiday looks more put together.”
“She seems to do it all effortlessly.”
But the truth is — you are already doing so much. You are already creating beauty and warmth in your own way. And your home, your life, your season… it’s enough. More than enough.

This book has been a gentle reminder for me to pause, breathe, and appreciate the blessings right in front of me — just as they are. Not the ones I’m tempted to wish for.

If you’re feeling stretched thin or caught in comparison mode as you prepare for your own Thanksgiving, you might really love this read too.

Thank you all for the love and support you continue to show my channel. I’m grateful for each one of you — especially the women carrying the heart of the home during the holidays. You’re seen, you’re valued, and you’re doing beautifully. 💛

Also… how does Vlogmas sound? 🎄😉

Today did not go as planned.
There isn't going to be another video this week.
The house was full, I felt overwhelmed, and I couldn’t settle long enough to film or even gather the right words to make a video about inspiration. I didn’t feel inspired — at all — which can be discouraging when you’re trying to create beauty for others.

But this morning, as I sat at my desk, I looked over and saw the peonies my mom had brought me last night.
And as I was talking with her on the phone, the idea for this post came to me.

Just… a moment.
Just flowers sitting in a vase.
But they shifted something in me.

It reminded me that inspiration doesn’t always arrive during perfect circumstances; sometimes it’s waiting quietly in the background until we slow down long enough to notice it.

Being surrounded by beautiful things — flowers, books, meaningful objects — has always lifted my spirit. On days like today, when nothing flows and I feel pulled in too many directions, these simple moments are what help me breathe.

And I want to share something meaningful tied to that…

Years ago, when I first discovered Jennifer L. Scott, her books and channel brought me so much inspiration. She helped me see homemaking and feminine living through a lens of purpose, elegance, and dignity. Her work made me believe that I could write too — especially about the subjects I loved that didn’t seem to get much attention anymore. Jennifer’s voice encouraged me to find my own.

Her newest book, The Daily Connoisseur's Guide to Living Well at Home, is such a refreshing and heartfelt read. I’ve really enjoyed it, and I know many of you will too.

And lastly, if you’ve purchased my own book, The Lady of the House Handbook, and it has encouraged you in your home or daily rhythms, I would truly appreciate a review on Amazon. Your words help this message reach other women who may need it.

So here’s to inspiration found in the quietest places —
flowers from our mothers,
conversations on the phone,
books that shape us,
and the unexpected moments that remind us to look for beauty right where we are.
