The #1 thing I've heard from boutique owners this year is that they're struggling to sell their old inventory. This 21-minute training will share the first step to creating a strategic, profitable plan and gives you 3 strategies you can use to move inventory.

I accidentally learned about branding from Michael Kors back in 2015.

At the time, I just thought I was selling handbags.
But looking back, I realize I was getting a front-row seat to brand strategy in action.

They didn’t sell tan bags. They called tan, “luggage.”
Wallets were named after NYC streets—not given random names.
Everything made you feel like a jetsetter, not just a customer.

They weren’t selling fashion. They were selling a lifestyle.

And now I tell my students this all the time:
If your store just lists products with basic names like “black top” or “new arrivals,” you’re not building a brand. You’re building a catalog.

Branding is in the details… especially the words.
That’s what separates labels from legends.

Let me know in the comments, have you ever thought about renaming your products to fit your brand vibe?

And if you want to check out the full breakdown of what I learned at Michael Kors, check out The Boutique Academy on Instagram.

Is your online store confusing people or converting them?

Let me tell you what working at Forever 21 taught me about how to actually merchandise a boutique.

Too many online stores feel like flea markets.
No clear categories. No story. Just chaos.

Here’s what I learned:

• Every section should have a theme, mood, or story
• Your homepage shouldn’t just be a grid of random items
• The right merchandising increases your AOV (average order value)

I just dropped a full post breaking it all down on IG.
If you want to fix your homepage and make your store feel curated—not cluttered—go read it at @theboutiqueacademy.

Want to know how I’d make $100K in 30 days as an online boutique owner?

It’s not about posting more. It’s about running a system.

In this breakdown, I walk through exactly how I’d hit six figures:

• Choosing the right product
• Creating a real sales strategy (not just a post-and-pray plan)
• Increasing AOV with upsells + cross-sells
• Turning customers into marketers
• Using organic proof to guide paid ads
• Milking winning products instead of constantly chasing new ones

If you’re tired of inconsistent sales, this is the roadmap.

Go to our IG @theboutiqueacademy to read the full carousel. Then come back and let me know your biggest takeaway.

Most boutique owners start a business because they wanted to sell cute outfits. But, they ultimately just end up posting cute outfits…

No sales.

If you just wanted to post pretty pictures of your outfits,
you could’ve started a Pinterest board.

But if you want to SELL cute outfits CONSISTENTLY, then you’ll need to learn marketing & sales.

This might sting a little, but let’s be honest:

A boutique is not a mood board.
It’s a business.
And businesses need strategy, not just aesthetics.

You have the products.
You have the content.
You’re getting the likes.

But let me ask you this:
Are you getting the sales?
Because all the cute pictures in the world don’t matter if no one’s buying.

Here’s the part most boutique owners skip:

Pretty ≠ profitable.
And no, it’s not “just the algorithm.”

🚨 Your visuals aren’t backed by marketing.
🚨 Your content isn’t driving conversions.
🚨 Your product isn’t positioned to make people care or click.

If you want your business to work, you’re going to need:

— Strategy behind your content
— Data behind your decisions
— Structure behind your launches
— Marketing behind your visuals

Because yes, the photos matter but the plan behind them matters more.

Pinterest is for inspiration.
A boutique is for business.

So if you’re tired of posting and praying, hoping that “cute” will convert, it’s time to stop styling and start strategizing.

You built a boutique. Let’s treat it like one.

I’m ready to get back to YouTube in 2025! What do y’all want to see? What questions do you have? 👀

I’ve been coaching for 5 years now and one of the most frequently asked questions I get is, “Should I join the membership or the program?” I hear this question all the time, so let’s break it down:

The choice depends on how fast you want to see results and what kind of support you need.

The membership offers a library of video replays. It’s perfect when you need answers right now. It’s self-paced, so you dive in whenever you want.

But the program?

That’s where the real transformation happens. It’s not just more information; it’s step-by-step guidance and real-time support.

Just look at what happened inside each this month: ⬇️

Inside the Membership:

😊 1 live Q&A
😊 1 quarterly planning session
😊 1 guest expert call (tonight!)

Inside the Program:

🤑 2 live Q&A sessions
🤑 Live Instagram & Content audits with @territhesupernova
🤑 Paid Ads Masterclass
🤑 ManyChat Walkthrough with @thebriancajohnson
🤑 Increasing AOV Masterclass
🤑 Customer Retention Masterclass
🤑 Marketing Strategy & Support Call (this Wednesday)
🤑 Data & Analytics Masterclass (this Thursday)
🤑 Inventory Strategy with @darlene_y_mitchell (next Tuesday)
🤑 5 weeks of Black Friday planning—starting soon!

See the difference? 🙃

You can make money from both, but they deliver completely different experiences.

And next month, we’re making big changes to both offers, including a price increase for the program.

Want in? Don’t wait!

I’m listening… 👂🏾
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
What’s your definition of consistent?
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Honestly, that’s the real problem.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Quantifying your marketing is your real issue, Little
Miss “I post once per day and send an email once a week.”
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Marketing is simply the promotion of your products and services.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
And I don’t care what anyone says… You likely aren’t doing enough of it.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It’ll be a while before you start to see the results you want because you’re scared of “doing too much.”
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I don’t know about you, but my only desire is to create more sales opportunities and to reach more people.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The more people my business reaches, the more sales opportunities that it has.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Do more, then do better.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I need y’all to be a little louder about your business.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Mastery comes from practice and y’all aren’t practicing enough. 😩
