We've sat in a lot of our MSc sessions, and certain lines from Dr. Cliff Lansley just stick.
The one that gets quoted back to us most: "98% of the world are good people. Sometimes they do bad things. But if you believe the person in front of you is good, curiosity comes easier than judgement. Compassion comes easier than advice".
That's really what emotional intelligence is. Not staying calm for the sake of it, but understanding that your emotions are there to serve you, and choosing what to do next.
