At Just 6 Months Old, Tasha Was Stoned and Left to Suffer Alone 💔

In Azerbaijan, life on the streets is already brutal - but for a young, tiny puppy like Tasha, it became a nightmare beyond comprehension. Only six months old, she had no home, no one to protect her, and no way to escape the devils that found her.

Tasha was completely alone when teenagers began throwing stones at her - for fun. With no one to defend her and nowhere to run, she endured repeated blows to her small body. One of those attacks destroyed her front leg beyond repair.

By the time they were done with her, the damage was catastrophic. Her bone is protruding through the skin, exposed to dirt and bacteria. The wound is badly infected, swollen, and rotting.

Tasha has lost lots of blood. She’s dangerously anemic and in critical condition. The trauma and infection are severe. Tasha urgently needs amputation surgery to save her life but she’s foo fragile now to be put through surgery.

Tasha is Hospitalized- Surgery date near 💔❤️‍🩹

Tasha is hospitalized, and her condition is even more critical than we first understood. The infection in her leg has progressed to complete necrosis (the leg tissue is completely dead), and it is now traveling upward through her body - with the terrifying possibility of reaching her chest.

Amputation surgery is absolutely necessary and must happen soon. However, it cannot happen immediately. Tasha is currently on strong antibiotics and IV support to stabilize her and give her a fighting chance to survive the procedure. Her tiny body needs just a little more strength before she can endure something so major.

We also learned something else - she is only about 4 months… still just a baby. And she weighs under 5 kg (around 10 lbs). Thinking about this fragile little soul going through such trauma is almost too much to bear.Our hearts are breaking, and we are incredibly stressed knowing what lies ahead. Surgery on such a tiny, weakened puppy is so risky, but it is her only chance.

We are sharing several photos and videos this time. We simply couldn’t choose just one or two… she is so incredibly precious, and we want you to see the little life you are helping save.

Update: Tasha had surgery ❤️‍🩹

Two days ago, Tasha was rushed into emergency surgery. The night before, we received a call that the infection in her leg was spreading rapidly, and there was no time left to wait. The doctor believed she was strong enough to make it through anesthesia, so we said yes.

We are relieved to share that Tasha’s amputation surgery is complete. She woke up without complications and then spent time in an oxygen chamber to support her recovery.

Even after everything we’ve witnessed in rescuing animals in Azerbaijan, it’s still impossible to understand how anyone could hurt a dog like Tasha - so sweet, so gentle, so small.

Recovery after an amputation can be unpredictable, and complications are not uncommon. We are hopeful for a smooth healing process, but we are also ready to support her through anything that comes next.

We truly can’t thank you enough for standing by Tasha. She needed help, and you showed up for her.

HUGO UPDATE ❤️

Hugo is looking so much better. His feet are less inflamed, the redness has gone down, and he’s finally gaining some weight. He’s still hospitalized, recovering not only from his amputation surgery but from the many serious health issues he suffered while surviving outside.

He won’t be discharged anytime soon — he still needs intensive care — but he’s fighting hard and improving every day.

Our baby boy Matthew is improving ❤️‍🩹

We did have a great scare last week where his temperature spiked and he had to be rushed to the hospital. He stayed a few nights and thankfully the fever broke.

Overall, Matthew is in good spirits. This precious boy has made plenty of friends already with the shelter cats, dogs and staff. For a dog that’s been shot and abused his entire life, he’s very friendly and trusting which makes us happy because his love is finally being reciprocated.

Mathews’s long medical journey continues - his wounds are being cleaned and treated daily snd thankfully the infection overpowering his mouth is almost gone. In a few more weeks, he will be scheduled for reconstructive surgery to fix his jaw that’s fractured in many places by the bullet that struck him in the face.

Please help us keep this going. We are doing everything we can to make sure Matthew gets past this and knows nothing but love and safety in the near future. Update: SARAH IS NOT GIVING UP 💗

Sarah was Stoned, Isolated, and Left to Consume Rocks & Dirty Puddles 💔. Today, she is still hospitalized and receiving daily IV fluids along with intensive treatment, but we are starting to see small, encouraging signs.

Her eyes are visibly brighter.

This feels like such a huge moment. We truly feared her vision was completely lost, but her eyesight has recovered - and now there’s a softness and light in her eyes that wasn’t there before.

She is still in a very fragile condition and has a very long road ahead. Her body is weak, and she continues to need constant care, medication, and monitoring to keep improving.

Sarah’s beautiful hazel eyes have emerged!

Just days ago, we feared Sarah had completely lost her vision. During her examination, the inside of her eye membranes appeared to be gone, covered in severe infection. We truly thought the damage might be permanent.
But thankfully - we reached her in time 🙏

With careful cleaning, antibiotics, and ointment, her eyes opened - and she can see the world around her again. Only this time, the world isn’t dark and cruel. It’s filled with people fighting for her, bringing light and hope back into her life.

This is a HUGE win.

But we are still very concerned about her. She is in very fragile condition. Severe dehydration and starvation have caused organ damage and a fever that keeps spiking.

We knew we had to find him. When we finally tracked him down and pulled him from the dangerous streets, the extent of his pain was overwhelming. Sores cover his hindquarters. His back legs are twisted and weak — likely broken at some point — and can barely keep him upright. Severe malnutrition has left his body ravaged. This dog has been starved for a very long time. Yet, despite everything, Chapman is still continuing to fight. Chapman has a lot going on. He needs bloodwork, tick testing and IV support. He’s been starved for so long that his organs are damaged.
