Final Cut Pro 11.2 is out! But if you are still using a FireWire cable to import footage from a camcorder, don’t update! Apple is discontinuing support for this feature!

Just scored a bunch of digicams (and an AE-1) at a garage sale. The seller had been scooping up digicams at thrift stores for years and was finally getting rid of them. I got to shop the house! He was a big fan of Nikon but there are a couple of Canon digital cameras in there including a working G2!
He was trying to sell them for around $1 each and while I like a good deal I don’t like feeling like I’m ripping someone off. So I paid $86 for all the cameras. Keep in mind they’re untested, many are missing batteries, the AE-1 shutter advance is stuck…
About to go through them all to test them…

Press release from Apple about Final Cut Camera 2.0 mentions the upcoming release of Final Cut Pro 11.2. We don’t often see that but it’s not completely unheard of. Expect this update to come out in late October after new iPads and Macs are announced as part of Apple’s October event… 🔪🥦

I got to shoot on a Panasonic for the first time in quite a while yesterday… The S1 II with a 24-70mm zoom lens. I love how they have the controls for white balance and ISO laid out. With the iris control on the lens, this camera was SUPER easy to run & gun with.
Open gate should be standard in all cameras moving forward, BTW.
And auto-focus? It only got buggy a few times when subjects were intensely backlit by the sun. Really impressed with the shooting experience with this camera.
