Today, many of you are walking into the CA Inter exam hall.

You’ve already cleared Foundation, so this isn’t your first time.

And that’s exactly why Inter is tricky.

At this level, most mistakes don’t happen because you don’t know the subject.

They happen because of how you attempt the paper.

Some common CA Inter mistakes I see every attempt, and how to avoid them today:

• Over-attempting because “thoda aur likh lete hai”

Inter rewards accuracy, not volume. 
Write what is asked. Then move on.

• Ignoring weightage and time split

You have 180 minutes for 100 marks, that’s 1.8 minutes per mark. So for a 5-mark question, don't spend more than 9 minutes.

• Not structuring answers

Knowledge bina structure ke waste ho jaata hai. Add headings, working notes, clear flow, examiner needs clarity.

• Panic after seeing one tough question

Ek question paper tough ho sakta hai. 
Poora paper nahi. Breathe. Scan. Choose smartly.

• Underestimating presentation
Even at Inter level, neat working, stepwise logic, and readability matter.

Aaj ka exam is not about proving intelligence.
It’s about executing under pressure.

You’ve already crossed one level.

The recent wave of flight cancellations by IndiGo created panic, anger, and endless speculation online.

Interestingly, the least amount of heat went to the airline itself.

Most of the outrage was redirected toward the regulator, and that shift in public narrative is worth paying attention to.
 
Last year, IndiGo reported:
• Revenue close to ₹80,000 crore
• Operating margin of 26%
• Net profit of over ₹7,300 crore
• And yes, dividends were paid to investors

A company under real financial stress does not reward shareholders.

Yet the popular belief floating around is that rising dollar costs and lease payments pushed the airline into trouble.

But in reality, foreign currency exposure forms barely 2% of total revenue costs. Even a steep rupee fall barely dents the structure.

Now let’s talk about the actual trigger.

The key operational rule that caused disruption was issued way back in January 2024, with full implementation planned by November 2025:

• Pilot weekly rest revised from 36 to 48 hours
• Night landings reduced from 6 to 2 per pilot

Despite this long window, there were hundreds of flight cancellations.

IndiGo currently operates with about 5,500 pilots.
To meet the updated requirement smoothly,
They need around 500 additional pilots.

The annual cost of this expansion? Roughly ₹250 crore.

With 11–12 crore passengers flying every year, even a marginal ₹20 ticket adjustment could have absorbed the entire cost without disruption.

Which makes one thing very clear:

This was not a profitability crisis.
This was not a forex shock.

This was a planning failure, and the customer quietly PAID the price for it.
