💚 A huge THANK YOU to NJLCA, its members and @PIX11News !
We recently had the privilege of joining an incredible NJLCA Service Day at Strengthen Our Sisters, a domestic violence shelter serving women and families in Passaic County, New Jersey.
Our nonprofit, I Want To Mow Your Lawn, has been helping at this property when we can for about five years, but this day showed what can happen when an entire group of landscape professionals comes together at once.
A sincere thank you to the New Jersey Landscape Contractors Association (NJLCA) and the five participating companies:
🌱 Native Fields Landscaping
🌱 Kodiak Landscaping
🌱 Vander Sluys Landscape Development
🌱 Yellow Wagon Landscaping
🌱 The Deer Guys
Crews donated their time, equipment and professional expertise to tackle overgrowth, brush, fields, walkways and other areas around the property — all completely free of charge.
We were also grateful to have Professor Claire from Bergen Community College lend a hand alongside the volunteers and crews.
And a special thank you to PIX11 News for coming out and shining a spotlight on the effort, the landscaping community and, most importantly, the mission behind the work. 📺💚
Days like this are a reminder of what can happen when businesses, volunteers, nonprofits and local media all come together around one purpose: helping people in the community who could use an extra hand.
Thank you to everyone who showed up. 🌱
We do what we can, when we can.

Wahl just dropped the official finalist video — all five stories in one place, and honestly, they're worth your three minutes. Veterans, kids, cancer fighters, service dogs, and one guy with a mower. 🧔🌱
We're humbled to be in this company — and we'd be grateful for your vote!
🗳️ Vote for us directly (10 seconds): woobox.com/ohm45c/gallery/VyEjypTAT5A
One vote per person, through Sept 18. And here's the good part: you're allowed one vote PER finalist — so voting for us takes nothing away from anyone else's cause. Vote your heart on all of them. Just include us. 💚
Six years, 2,000 volunteers, all 50 states — this community built that. Let's finish this one together.

Some news for this community — because you've been here since the beginning.

@WahlHomeProduct just named me one of 5 national finalists for Man of the Year through their Benevolent Beards Contest. If we win, $20,000 goes straight to the mission — free lawn care for veterans, seniors, and neighbors in need. That's 4+ years of our entire operating budget.
You've watched this grow from one lawn to 2,000 volunteers across all 50 states. This vote is the next chapter, and it costs you 10 seconds:

One vote per person, through September 18.
And yes — if we build enough momentum, I will cut my entire front yard with scissors on camera. Every blade. You'll see it here first. ✂️
Thank you for six years of showing up. Let's finish this one together. 🌱

A couple of months ago, something truly extraordinary happened.
@iwanttomowyourlawn was selected as a New York @yankees HOPE Week honoree — part of a tradition now in its 17th year, where the Yankees recognize five local nonprofits during their summer homestand.
We’ll share more of the backstory soon, but for now, we just want to say thank you.
That day brought together Yankees players, coaches, front office staff, production teams, volunteers, supporters, and even Brian Cashman for a community landscaping project serving one homeowner in need. At one point, there were probably 75 people on site, all showing up for one simple purpose: to help.
A special thank you to CLC Landscape Design, who helped elevate the project far beyond what was originally imagined. Their generosity was a powerful reminder that this mission has never been built by one person alone. It exists because people continue to believe in the idea and step forward.
But the moment that still feels hardest to believe was seeing our nonprofit’s name displayed on the Yankee Stadium scoreboard.
In a place filled with history, tradition, and legends, seeing I Want To Mow Your Lawn up there meant more than words can capture.
That moment belonged to every volunteer, homeowner, donor, sponsor, partner, friend, family member, and supporter who has helped carry this mission forward.
This recognition is worth celebrating, but it also comes with responsibility. It is not just something to look back on — it is something to build from.
Thank you to the New York Yankees for shining a light on this mission.
And thank you to everyone who believed in a simple idea before moments like this ever seemed possible.
We are grateful, humbled, and more motivated than ever to keep going.

Sometimes a yard is about more than grass.
For the past year, we’ve been doing what we can to help Deb in Maywood, NJ—a widow of a veteran who recently suffered a stroke and has very little support nearby. As life became overwhelming, the property fell into disrepair. Christmas decorations were still up from November 2025, overgrowth took over, and township notices began arriving.
When one of our longtime volunteers faced health challenges of his own and could no longer keep up with the maintenance he’d generously been providing, six volunteers stepped in.
Tom, Cathy, Tom, Evan, Rob, and I donated one morning—more than 12 volunteer hours—removing months-old decorations, clearing brush and debris, cutting back overgrowth, and helping restore a little peace of mind.
The township official who had been serving notices even stopped by to personally thank the volunteers for making such a difference.
No cameras. No payment. Just neighbors helping a neighbor.
This is why I Want To Mow Your Lawn exists.
Watch the transformation here, then search “I Want To Mow Your Lawn” to volunteer, request help for someone in need, or support our mission. Every helping hand makes a difference. ❤️

What a Mow-ment!
Four years ago, life felt like it was falling apart. I was laid off, my wife was pregnant, my father was battling terminal illness, and everything was uncertain. To cope, I started mowing lawns for neighbors, thinking it was just a small way to stay busy.
What started as a simple act turned into something bigger than I ever imagined—a grassroots journey connecting people and inspiring kindness. And now, this story might even hit the big screen as a feature film.
This project has grown thanks to incredible volunteers, supporters, and communities rallying together. It’s been a challenging yet rewarding road, balancing work, family, and the demands of running this initiative. Every small act of kindness along the way has created ripple effects far beyond what I could have seen.
Special thanks to Sam from In Theory Productions, Adam from Aperture Entertainment, and Walden Media for believing in this mission.
This journey belongs to everyone who’s been part of it. Thank you for your support, kindness, and belief in spreading hope and resilience.
Let’s keep mowing forward, one act of kindness at a time.
