Kathak with Siya
My name, Siya, is a synonym of Goddess Sita from the sacred Hindu holy epic Ramayana. When my parents were expecting their first child, they wished for a baby girl and had decided to name her Siya. This is how I got my name. On this day, along with my Academic and Professional studies, I'm also devoted to Kathak classical dance form from Jaipur Gharana. I have been practicing Kathak under the guidance of my Guru Maa Dr. Swati Agarwal Ma'am. Kathak inspires me a lot and I wish to learn Kathak to the highest levels. Also, I aspire to be a messenger of this rich dance form.
