Save the Children USA

Save the Children is an international humanitarian organization that has protected children around the world for more than 100 years. We give children a healthy start in life, the opportunity to learn, and protection from harm. When crisis strikes, we are among the first to respond and the last to leave.

The inhumanity of the situation in Gaza is unconscionable.

Not only is it an unprecedented humanitarian catastrophe, the UN Commission of Inquiry has concluded that genocide is being committed in Gaza.
History will undoubtedly judge this moment as a test of humanity — and we are failing. Failing the people of Gaza, failing the hostages, and failing our own collective moral imperative.

Save the Children’s call to leaders:
Don’t wait for more declarations.
Don’t wait for more destruction.
Don’t wait for more deaths.
Do what’s right. Act now.

One week after the devastating 6.0 earthquake in eastern Afghanistan, children and families are still in urgent need of help.
Nearly 1,200 children have been killed making up more than half of the 2,100 confirmed deaths to date with thousands more left homeless.
Our mobile health teams are working around the clock, turning a traveling clinic into a 24/7 lifeline in one of the hardest-hit districts. Some of our staff even walked 20 km carrying medical supplies to reach families cut off by rockfalls.
Children can’t wait. Every donation helps us deliver critical medical care and support ➡️ bit.ly/4mcZtaW

In the aftermath of a devastating earthquake in Afghanistan, Pakiza*, a 25-year-old midwife with Save the Children, walked for hours to reach a woman in labor.
With no roof, no tent—just her first aid kit—she delivered a healthy baby girl under the trees.
Thousands of families still need urgent support. Women and children are especially at risk and need medical supplies, safe spaces and care.
Save the Children is doing whatever it takes to reach them, but we can’t do it without you. Please donate today. bit.ly/4m9MmYn

Last week, torrential rains triggered a massive landslide in western Sudan, cutting off the remote village of Tarsin. To reach children and families trapped in the aftermath, our team of doctors, child protection experts, and mental health professionals made an extraordinary journey—on donkeys. 🫏

After 6 hours and nearly 14 miles through mud and mountains, they arrived with lifesaving supplies, finding devastation and families who had lost everything.

In Sudan, more than 30 million people already need urgent assistance. Now, the need is even greater.

In Sudan, fighting has forced 4.6 million children from their homes, making it the largest child displacement crisis in the world.

In April, violence in Zamzam Camp uprooted nearly half a million people, including 260,000 children. Many witnessed killings, sexual violence, and the destruction of their communities.

Children like 12-year-old Salma have endured unimaginable trauma but with shelter, food, and medical care, hope is still possible.

We’ve been in Sudan since 1983, and we won’t stop now.

📢 Talk about Sudan.

Eglantyne Jebb was the trailblazing founder of Save the Children.

She believed every child had the right to grow up safe, nourished, and educated — and she never stopped fighting for kids everywhere.

Today, we celebrate her birthday and share how a supporter of children's rights, like Eglantyne, can help make the world a better place for kids. Swipe to learn. 👉

According to the Ministry of Health in Gaza, 12 children have died from malnutrition in just the last 10 days.

The famine declared in Gaza is not a natural disaster—it is entirely preventable. Children are dying before the world’s eyes. They don’t have weeks or months to wait. They need a surge of aid, full humanitarian access and a definitive ceasefire now.
