I'm so happy I was able to finally do Ed! I've been wanting to cosplay her for a long time. I had wanted to have walking on my hands down by the time I did her, but sadly I was not able to build up my muscles & skill enough in time for Anime Matsuri. But I'll still be working on trying to do that for future cons & she was still super fun to do regardless.

Plus it worked out so well to be wearing her for my panel as a prime example of being able to get fun cosplays together on a small budget!

I also loved that my choice of characters this weekend had a huge variety of personalities.

I'm excited to announce that, outside of hosting a panel at Anime Matsuri this year, I'm also going to be modeling for Anime Matsuri's fashion show, for the Japanese fashion brands Acrylagitt, Kikirarashoten, & Putumayo.

I had mentioned a while back on my other social media accounts that I used to do some modeling in the past. But outside from cosplay & some self portrait shoots, it's been years since I've done any modeling work for others, so I'm excited to get back into it for this. It'll also be a bit of a new experience, as the modeling work I've done in the past was always photo modeling, & this will be runway modeling instead, so I'll be looking forward to the new challenge.

It'll be taking place that Friday night, August 11th, 9pm. The Anime Matsuri schedule app is out now, so you can mark it on your schedule!

My favorite thing about her character is just how much growth she has throughout the series. Although, in general I think part of the main purpose of the show Fairytail is showing the large amount of different types of growth all of the various characters have, & that is the biggest reason I liked the show. 

But I do particularly like watching hers, there’s a lot of battling & correcting her own beliefs of herself & of the world.

& the development of her relationship with Gray is simultaneously hilarious, & very cute & sweet. There’s a lot of push & pull, doubts, discovery of themselves throughout the process, & ultimately, a build up of solid trust as they both come to find that the other is willing to still be there in the end, despite those struggles.

I think that’s a more accurate representation of what solid real life relationships look like. People are imperfect, which means so are the relationships. We will spend forever learning ourselves, we will have difficult moments that cause us to doubt & question, we have fears that get the best of us sometimes, & all of that makes relationships messy. But when both are willing to learn & grow from those moments, & work through them, that is how genuine trust is built. That is how you know who are the people who you can truly walk besides through the rollercoaster that is life.

Another armor set sent out, this one is on its way to the UK.

I don't get to do this HTTYD 3rd movie version too often, but I think it's probably the coolest looking of her different versions. It's also the most work because of having to dremel all that edging on each section lol.

Happy Saint Patrick's Day!

Here's my Sailor Jupiter boots with some snazzy shamrock socks.

When I cosplayed Sailor Jupiter (which was one of my first cosplays!), I could not find green boots like hers anywhere! (Premade cosplays weren't as easily found then, vs nowadays you can buy most on Amazon!). So back then, I had to make them myself!

I made these by stripping down a pair of black pleather boots using acetone (this strips the glossy outer layer).

I then painted them using green fabric paint. I actually didn't even seal these, & I've had them for years (over a decade!), & they still look great! I don't obviously wear these every day, mainly on saint patty's day & Christmas, & the few times I've cosplayed Jupiter, so I can't say how they would withstand daily use, but for cosplay, this is a great hack if you can't find shoes in a specific color.
