Fabric Requirements: This assumes that all long strips are pieced.
White: 2 ½ yards
Blue (dark) 1 ½ yards
Blue (medium) ¾ yard
Blue (light) ⅜ yard
Red (dark) 1 ½ yards
Red (medium) ¾ yard
Red (light) ⅜ yard

Cutting Instructions: For 1 block
Blue Star: (need 4)
White (background) - 8 squares 2 ½” x 2 ½”
- 12 squares 2 ⅞” x 2 ⅞”
Blue (dark) Star center - 1 square 4 ½” x 4 ½”
Blue (medium) Star points - 4 squares 2 ⅞“ x 2 ⅞”

QOV "How to join" Instructions Below
Starting Wednesday June 24th! A Quilt of Valor Sew-along with Lori of ‪@quiltinginthecountry-Lori‬​and I ‪@SewMagic-FabricMagician‬(Annette) We are using an original pattern that was inspired by a quilt in Eleanor Burns "Forty Fabulous Years".
We are going to be donating our quilts to the QOV group Pins & Needles of MI. This is NOT a requirement. You may make your quilt from any fabrics you desire and keep it to use as you choose.
HOWEVER, if you choose you may join QOV and Pat Vezino of QOV Pins & Needles will send you a kit of fabric to cut and sew. Understanding that must return the finished quilt top back to her and the group will do the actual quilting and binding. They will then present it to a veteran ceremoniously. (instructions to join are below)
The pattern is BEGINNER friendly. (see pictures)
Fabric requirements and cutting instructions will post after the announcement.

How to Join QOV - Pins and Needles

1. Go to www.qovf.org/
2. Look at the top line. You will see Home, Nominations, Join Us....etc.
3. Click on Join Us
4. Go to “Individual Membership” then “join”
5. Click “Continue”
6. Fill out the form
When you get to “Type of Membership”, Click “Group Member” (the $10 membership)
7. A box will drop down -type in the box: Pins & Needles QOV MI
8. The privacy policy: Check what you want. We usually check #1 and #3
9. Then click “Submit”
10. It will take you to the payment page. If you don't want to add on the cost of the credit card, unclick that box. We usually help Quilts of Valor and pay the few cents, but that’s entirely up to you.
11. Put in your credit card number.
12. Make sure when you put in your credit card number click by the exp date and the CVC code area will pop up.
13. When it is all finished, Click “Submit”. NOTE: Do Not click it more than once or it will charge you multiple times.
14. If you have any problems call Pat Vezino at 517-927-2368
15. Once you appear on our membership list, (give it 3 business days) a kit for the sew-along will be sent to you.
