Today we remember the thousands of young men that gave their lives for the freedoms of millions of people all over the world. From the beaches of Normandy to the liberation of the concentration camps of eastern Europe. The invasion was a response to the evil atrocities of hate being performed by those who opposed the liberties that God has given all people. We recognize that we are blessed as Americans to know what liberty is , but also we know as believers that "where the spirit of the Lord is there is Liberty" (2 cor 3:17). The world was being overwhelmed with evil in the 1940s and the enemy came in like a flood to destroy God's purpose for his people. So God lifted up a standard, that standard came in the form of the United States and its allies. On June 6th 1944. The battle had only begun but was the very thing that tumbled the evil axis powers. Freedom is a gift but it isn't free it has been paid for by the blood of fallen soldiers on every battlefield where tyranny has threatened human Liberty.
