I hope everyone's well and apologies for the scarcity of Coda videos so far in 2025 - I've been busy completing this 3-String Beginner Course: codatuition.com/category/video-lessons/complete-be… It's now available on the site in full & in shorter, more specialised versions. The complete course is pretty comprehensive - 14 hours of video tuition with various extra files including guitar TABS & audio playalong tracks + more, and it's good for Newbies up to Intermediate level (several months worth of regular tuition available).
Check it out and let me know what you think, and I'll be getting back to releasing more regular YouTube videos very soon! - Sion
Just a quick message to say - unfortunately I'm crocked! My ankle gave way jogging and I've broken my arm, so not much playing for a couple of months. I'm looking at putting out a few non-guitaring videos - maybe some historical blues stuff. Feel free to drop me a reply with suggestions! Cheers Sion
I've been working on a few 3 string arrangements - famous songs which use different scales. It's interesting to hear how different scales affect the sound of riffs and how they change the feel of the song. I've got a few demos lined up for Pentatonic, Blues, Major & Minor scales, and I'll probably do a few videos explaining how the scales work. There are several example riffs for each scale, so please drop me a line if there's a particular tune that would be good to work into a lesson. Keep an eye out for some Minor Pentatonic Riffs - on their way for the weekend!
codatuition.com/category/scores/3-string-scores/I hope everyone's having a good weekend. Just a quick heads up to let you know the 1/2 price sale on scores (Tabs) is ending tomorrow. Thanks a lot to everyone who has bought a score or 2 so far - I hope they're useful and it's great that you're supporting the channel. There's a new lesson out this week too, so watch this space. Cheers Sion
I hope everyone's had a good weekend. As mentioned, there's a 1/2 price sale of YouTube lesson scores (Tabs) on the new website, starting today at 12pm GMT (UK time), and lasting 1 week. I hope the regular viewers of this channel find something useful for a cheap price - most of the Cigar Box Guitar & Seasick Steve lessons now have Tabs available. There are also several free PDF downloads: Notation & Tab guides (including useful theory explanations), blank 3 & 4 string Tab & chord box templates. Cheers Sion codatuition.com/shop/
We hope everyone's doing ok so far in 2020, whichever country you're in! CBG update - we've just finished a new website offering scores (Tabs) for most of our Cigar Box Guitar, YouTube videos. There will be a 7 day, 1/2 price sale on all scores starting Monday 7th September. This is a thank you to the regular viewers of this channel, and we hope you can find something useful to download. We want to keep producing videos to help you guys with your Cigar Box playing, so we'll be producing scores to accompany future lessons (avoiding copyright issues!), and we hope that if you like the lesson, then you'll consider buying the score (1/2 price for the first 7 days). Please check out the site in the meantime and watch this space for new videos coming soon: codatuition.com/
Hi, just a quick heads up to everyone: we're going to publish a few video lessons in different styles over the next few weeks which will feature Major and Minor Chords and Scales. There will be plenty of parts to learn and will hopefully give you some good ideas to try out, but they won't use full pieces like some of our other Blues lessons. So, please drop us a line underneath the videos telling us if you like the styles and also how difficult they are to play. We'd be happy to turn any of these next few lessons into full pieces with Tab if they're popular enough and if necessary, we can also make things a bit easier. I'm sure there are plenty of Blues lovers learning Cigar Box Guitar and we'll definitely be returning to Roots and Blues lessons soon, but hopefully you'll like trying out these new ideas too. Keep pickin', Sion
