Principio del Jus Soli (Derecho del suelo)
En países como EE.UU., la ciudadanía se otorga automáticamente a las personas nacidas en el territorio, sin importar el estatus migratorio de sus padres. Este principio está consagrado en la Enmienda 14 de la Constitución de EE.UU..
La Corte Suprema ha ratificado este derecho en casos como United States v. Wong Kim Ark (1898), estableciendo que el gobierno no puede revocar la ciudadanía adquirida por nacimiento.
