Patiently waiting to see how these magnificent coal forests will come to life, where filming out in the field wasn't (and should never be) an option.

And here's a 'Prehistoric Cut' re-edit of 'The Pack'!

No modern-day filler between paleo scenes, slightly relaxed color contrast, and can be viewed without narration.

I have uploaded the "Prehistoric Cut" of The River Dragon on dailymotion. Seems to work. So if you don't want to download the edit then you can stream it via the links below.

If you missed the last post, then this is a re-edit of episode 2 of WWD2025 where I've removed the modern-day scenes (except the intro), tweaked the colour a bit and so on. There is also a narration-less version you can watch. I've now also removed the modern-day intro specifically in the narration-less version.

All right guys, I have actually made an edit of Walking With Dinosaurs 2025, believe it or not. Call it: the prehistoric cut.

It's a relatively simple edit in which I have removed all the modern-day paleontologist sequences (except for the intro) and try to string together the paleo-sequences as smoothly as possible; and so it sort of becomes a little bit more like the original WWD format. I think this makes for a less jerky experience overall, and I don't think the paleontologists provide that much information that the narrator doesn't repeat in the paleo sequences anyway so..

I have also tried to tame the color and contrast a bit, see the third image for comparison.

Now, I don't intend to make a "prehistoric cut" of the entire series any time soon, and so I figured that the featured episode for this experiment might as well be the most widely popular one: The River Dragon.

Note that the edit will NOT be uploaded to YouTube. You can download it for a limited time via the google drive link below. If you want to try and upload it to a different video-streaming site, then that's fine as far as I'm concerned.

As a bonus, there is also an alternative "no narrator" version of the edit you can download. The real one is called "WITH narrator".

Running time: 29 minutes
Resolution: 1080p
Format: HEVC MP4
File size: 2.17 GB

Looks like Prehistoric Planet Ice Age is going for the usual habitat themed episodes after all, "Grasslands" being one of the episodes. Hit us with your best guess of what the remaining 4 episodes will focus be called. Mountains? Coasts(again)? Forests/woodlands?

Edit: or maybe "The Big Freeze" and "The Big Melt" as stated in the promo article are still episodes titles as well, opening and closing the show.

Let's be honest, they're lucky they just ran into a bunch of dinosaurs instead of Viet Cong's with kalashnikovs.

This flying model of a half-sized Quetzalcoatlus from episode 2 of 'Lost Worlds, Vanished Lives' (1989) goes so much harder than any computer generated reconstruction of prehistoric life.
