I use my serger once in a blue moon. What do you use your serger for?
I actually have a really nice sergerš². I use it once a year? Each time I do, I think āThis is really nice, I should find projects to use itā¦ā.
And then I start another quilt instead.
P.S. Got a great recommendation on Threads for a creator here on YT that has a whole new serger series - youtube.com/@ThoughtfulCreativity. Just in case you want to use your serger :)
A, B or...C? Yesterday the original fabric I picked (15 years ago) as the solid āgroundā for behind a design made of prints (A) didnāt seem right, plus itās not quite quilting fabric. So I bopped out to a new store š) and found what I thought was a great fabric (B) But today Iām not so sure. Whatās your pick? Or should I just go out and try again-C?
What are your favorite features and why? What do you NEVER use?
I'm planning a video explaining all those bells and whistles on sewing machines, and why you might or might not need them. Today I'm just trying to organize all the features somehow coherentlyā¦meaning Iām rearranging notecards on my table and pulling out my hairā¦and wondering what things I may have forgotten.
Who makes GARMENT patterns with good instructions?
____ I haven't made garments in a long time, but am helping son make some dress pants this week. The directions are HORRID! Are there any manufacturers who make good instructions? I don't know that I'm heading back towards garment making, but I know son is interested and I want to send him in the right direction.
Since I'm not a big paper piecer, I'm just really curious how people press while paper piecing.
If you don't iron - check out my video youtube.com/shorts/vG9HjRt0gdY and let me know if you think it's a good option for you. (It wasn't for me because I LOVE my steamy iron).

What comes first? Ā
Do you start with the fabric or a pattern when you're deciding what to make for your next quilt?
