We’re a Welsh-Kiwi family living in a small village in Northern Bulgaria. After visiting Bulgaria and completely falling in love, we found and bought our home in 2019 and finally moved here full time in 2023.
On this channel, you’ll find a mix of everyday village life, Lada fixes, family adventures, local exploring, and the little things that make rural Bulgaria so special.

After Nix saw my last lot of work, she has written down the Bulgarian alphabet for me to practice 😅
She is a very good teacher but she is also very strict, no room for errors 🤣
Thankfully she was happy with my work this morning!

When we moved to Bulgaria 3 years ago 🇧🇬 I would have never guessed I would be in a Bulgarian magazine!
Last November we were featured in Жената Днес, it was truly an amazing achievement... I keep my copy on my coffee table 😅 and even sent one to my mum back in Wrexham!

I am a visual learner, so I like to write down sentences when I'm learning... And when I use the words in real life I see the pages in my head 🤣

3 years ago today we left Wales for Bulgaria! 🏴➡️🇧🇬
We left in our van, so full that you couldn't open the doors with fear that everything would explode out 😂
On my lap is our dear old cat Miri, she sadly passed away in 2024 at the age of 14 ❤️ But she got to enjoy a beautiful year in Bulgaria and bathed in the sunshine like it was her full time job 🌞
Nix is missing a tooth! 😂 And I had a mullet!
I remember feeling so nervous, but as soon as we crossed the channel it all melted away! We were on our way home ❤️
