This is a project I’m about to start working on. I have been planning to build a go box for field day this year. So I pulled the trigger and started buying all the components to get this project underway. I’m going to document the progress so everyone can see how I’m going to put it together.
On a side note, even though band conditions are not so great I will be doing a livestream this afternoon.

Several thunderstorms training over my area today. So as a precaution I’ll regroup and be on the air tomorrow. Hopefully the storms will stay clear from here on Sunday. We have received several inches of rain over the last few days and some heavy thunderstorms. For those of you having decent weather enjoy the weekend and have fun on the air!!!

Doing some much needed antenna inspection and maintenance today. It’s hard this time of year because of the greenery and possibility of walking up on a rattler or copperhead. I’ll be back next weekend with more ham radio content.

Well as always, the Sun has thrown us another curve ball over the weekend and band conditions are not great. DRAP map shows a radio blackout over North America and South America. So, looks like I will try the livestream next weekend and hopefully conditions will improve. I'm taking the time to do some needed shack rearranging and testing some other devices I have. But if something interesting pops up on the bands I will upload a video to document it. 73 and have a great rest of your weekend!!!

Heavy thunderstorms rolling through about 5 or 6pm this afternoon. So I will be postponing my livestream until these pass through. A squirrel could fart 😂 and our power will go out so I’m definitely thinking we will lose power this afternoon!!! 73 everyone de K4MTW.

My whole weekend has been taken up on this remodel project. It’s nearly 5pm CDT and I’m still in the thick of it!!! So when I am able to pull away I will do a livestream but can’t guarantee it for today! I’m 1/2 way done but a lot more to do!!! Sometimes ham radio has to take a back seat to more pressing priorities! This one was about safety. The old steps were rotted and the Mrs. almost fell. But with that being said I will be earning some ham radio credit😉
