**만복이 최신 건강상태 공지 **

안녕하세요! 우리 만복이를 사랑해주시는 전세계 이모,삼촌,누나,형님 여러분!!!!

많은 분들이 아시다시피
만복이는 2025년 11월 뼈가 녹는 병변으로 인한, 2군데 동물병원에서 골육종 의심소견을 받고 최종 서울대학교 동물병원에서 절단수술을 받은 이후 의료진 판단으로 항암이 필요하지 않은 상태로,

계속 식욕과 활동성 모두 잘 유지하며 안정적으로 지내왔습니다.🤍🫂


다만 절단이라는 큰 수술 이후 2026년 2월! 정기 검진 과정에서 일부 이전과 달라진 신체 변화가 확인되었고,

이 부분은 그냥 넘어가기보다는 만복이 건강을 위해서 확인 절차를 거쳐야 다음 단계로 넘어갈 수 있다고 판단하여 3월 24일 림프절 수술을 진행하게 되었습니다.🧑🏻‍⚕️ 🏥


수술한 조직은 조직검사를 통해 확인할 예정이며,
현재는 결과를 기다리고 있는 단계입니다.(가장 힘든시간..🤦🏻‍♀️


다만 너무 걱정하실까 봐 말씀드리면,
만복이는 지금도
산책 매일 잘 하고, 밥 잘 먹고, 똥도 매일 잘 싸고, 땅도 매일 파면서 집안과 마당을 열심히 오가며 살고 있어요. 🥹


서울대 진료진 분들이랑도 화기애애하게 진료 잘 받고 있구요.
(병원에서는 세상 얌전한데…)
하지만 집에 오면 온갖 짜증은 다 부리는 중입니다 😂😂

그래도 전반적인 컨디션은 잘 유지하고 있고,
자기 원래 살던대로 습관대로 살고 있습니다.

그리고 최근 DM을 통해
만복이 사례가 다른 반려견 보호자분들께 도움이 되고 있다는 이야기도 많이 듣고 있습니다.
특히 절단 수술을 앞둔 대형견 보호자분들께서
만복이를 보며 용기를 얻으셨다는 말씀을 전해주셔서
저희도 큰 책임감과 동시에 보람도 느끼고 있어요.

사실 그 수술을 앞두고 나면 그 두려움은 이루 말할수 없는 공포와 고통의 시간을 겪게 되고 심적으로 표현할수 없을만큼 매우 힘들거든요.🤍🫂


또 한편으로는 진돗개는 국견이지만 🐕 🐶
아직은 의료 데이터가 더 축적되어 가는 과정에 있는 견종이기도 합니다.
그래서 경우에 따라서는 유사 견종의 자료를 참고하기도 하고, 이런 실제 사례들이 쌓이는 것이 중요하다고 생각하고 있습니다. 🫡



또한 병원 진료 과정에서
유튜브 영상을 통해 만복이의 평소 성향과 행동을
의료진이 미리 파악하는 데에도 도움이 되고 있습니다.
이 부분 역시 기록을 꾸준히 남기는 이유 중 하나입니다.

그래서 앞으로도 만복이의 소소한 일상과 진료과정을
가능한 한 투명하고 정직하게 공유드리려고 합니다.

좋은 결과든, 그렇지 않은 결과든
책임감 있게 전달드리겠습니다.

만복이는 여전히 저희 가족으로서
평소처럼 잘 먹고, 잘 싸고, 잘 파고(?) 잘 짜증내면서

**Manbok’s Latest Health Update 🤍**

Hello to all the aunties, uncles, sisters and brothers around the world who love Manbok!

As many of you know,
back in November 2025, Manbok underwent amputation surgery at Seoul National University Veterinary Hospital
after being suspected of having osteosarcoma by two clinics.

Since then, based on the medical team’s judgment,
he has been doing well without chemotherapy,
maintaining good appetite and activity.

However, during a routine check-up in February 2026,
some changes were observed compared to before.

Rather than overlooking it,
we decided to go through a proper evaluation process for Manbok’s health,
and on March 24, he underwent lymph node surgery.

The removed tissue will be examined,
and we are currently waiting for the biopsy results.
(This waiting time… is the hardest part 😅)

But please don’t worry too much—
Manbok is still living his life as usual:

He goes on daily walks,
eats well,
poops every day,
and yes… still digs the ground every single day 😂

He’s also doing great at the hospital,
getting along very well with the veterinary team.
(An absolute gentleman there…)

But at home?
He’s back to being his usual grumpy self 😂😂

Overall, his condition is stable,
and he’s living his daily life in his own way.

We’ve also received many messages saying
Manbok’s journey has helped other dog guardians—
especially those preparing for amputation surgery with large dogs.
Hearing that he gave others courage
means a lot to us.

Also, although the Korean Jindo is our national breed,
there is still a need for more accumulated medical data.
In some cases, references from similar breeds are used,
and we believe that sharing real-life cases like Manbok’s
can be meaningful.

Additionally, during hospital visits,
our YouTube videos have helped the medical team
better understand Manbok’s personality and behavior in advance.
This is one of the reasons we continue to document his journey.

So moving forward,
we will continue to share Manbok’s daily life and medical journey
as transparently and honestly as possible.

Whether the results are good or not,
we will take responsibility and keep you updated.

Manbok is still our family,
living his life as always—
eating well, pooping well, digging well (😆), and being grumpy as usual—
bringing smiles to all of you.

오랜만에 만복이 건강소식을 가지고 왔습니다!

만복이 치료 과정과 관련해 항암 여부를 많이 궁금해하시는 분들 계셔서 알려드려요 🎤 🙋🏻‍♀️

지난 25년 11월 중순 수술 이후 경과를 지켜본 결과, 회복 상태와 예후가 좋은편이라 항암은 진행하지 않아도 된다는 의료진분들의 의견을 받았고,

다리절단수술이후에도 처방약을 대략 5일정도 복용한 이후에도 별다른 통증이나 이상징후가 보여지지 않아서 회복에만 힘쓰며 지나고 있답니다. 💪🏻 🫶(현재 복용약 x)

간간히 올리는 영상으로 보셨다시피 만복이는 식욕과 활력이 모두 일정하게 꾸준히 회복되고 있고, 야식까지 야무지게 챙겨먹고 있는 상태로 체력증진에 강한 의지를 보이고 있어요. 🫂🤍

이제 돌아오는 2월 정기검진을 통해 보다 자세한 내용은 의료진과 다시 한 번 확인할 예정이며,
추가로 전해드릴 소식이 있으면 또 공유하겠습니다!

Manbok’s aunties, uncles, sisters, and brothers 🐶🤍
It’s been a while — we’re back with a little health update on Manbok!

Many of you have been asking whether Manbok would need chemotherapy,
so we wanted to share an update 🎤🙋🏻‍♀️

After closely monitoring his recovery following the surgery in mid-November 2025,
the veterinary team confirmed that his prognosis and recovery have been very stable,
and chemotherapy is not necessary at this time.

Even after his leg amputation surgery, Manbok only needed prescription medication for about five days,
and since then he has shown no signs of pain or complications,
so we’ve been focusing purely on recovery and rest 💪🏻🫶
(Currently, he is not taking any medication.)

As you may have seen in the recent videos,
Manbok’s appetite and energy have been steadily improving —
he’s even enjoying his late-night snacks again and showing strong determination to rebuild his strength 🫂🤍

We have a routine checkup scheduled in February,
where we’ll go over more details with the medical team,
and we’ll be sure to share any new updates with you then.

Thank you so much for all the love, concern, and warm support you’ve shown Manbok.
From here on, he’ll continue living at his own pace — slowly, calmly, and comfortably.

곧 내과 진료가 잡혀있거든요. 아예 종양을 뿌리뽑을수 있는만큼 최대한 뽑아버리려고요.💪🏻

주변에 예후가 좋은 친구들 케이스 보니까 골육종 이겨내고 씩씩하게 사는 친구들도 많이 봤거든요. 🩷🤍

그친구들 보면서 희망이 생겼어요. 만복이는 이겨내고자 하는 의지가 강한것 같아요. 스스로 많이 움직이고 연습하고 식욕도 매우 좋습니다. 💪🏻

To all the aunts, uncles, big brothers, and sisters around the world who love Manbok!

This weekend, our family did kimjang —
a Korean tradition where we make dozens of cabbages of kimchi to eat all winter! 🥬🥹
It’s a big family event and a LOT of work, so we’re taking a short rest today. 🤣

Because we’re focusing more on Manbok’s care, I won’t be able to upload videos every single day like before,
but I’ll still come by often and keep you updated!

Manbok is now the No.1 boss of our house, so many new and fun episodes are on the way. 😆

I’ll also slowly share updates about osteosarcoma, his surgery, and the chemotherapy process at Seoul National University Veterinary Hospital. 🏥👨🏻‍⚕️
His internal medicine appointment is coming up soon.

We’re staying positive and fighting this as hard as we can. 💪🏻
Seeing other dogs beat osteosarcoma and live strong, happy lives has given us so much hope. 🩷🤍

he’s moving on his own, practicing every day, and his appetite is very strong! 💪🏻

만복이가 고관절부위에 악성골육종을 진단받고 종양을 제거하기위해서 지난 25년 11월 13일날 다리절단 수술받았는데, 지금까지 어떤상태인지 가장 궁금해하시는 부분들을 정리해서 알려드리겠습니다.💪🏻😘


일단, 의족이 필요한게 아닌지 궁금해하시는 분들이 계신데요.🙄


결론부터 말씀드리지만 현재로써는 필요없습니다. 🙅🏻‍♀️
만복이는 세발로 뛰는데도 불구하고 황남매보다 빠르답니다.🦿🏃🏻‍♀️


즉, 세다리 충분히 중심을 잘잡고 근육재정비를 성공적으로 하고 있답니다.
요즘 보니까 물구나무 연습을 하더라고요?! 대체 어디까지 쎄질건지 감도 안잡힙니다 ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ 💪🏻😳


그리고 뒷다리가 한개뿐이라서 관절에 무리가 많이 가는게 아닌지 걱정해주시는 분도 계셨는데요🥹


안그래도 그것때문에 병원측에 제가 관절 점검하러 1개월에 한번씩 정기적으로 가겠다고 말씀드리니, 주기가 너무 짧다고 하시며..😂👨🏻‍⚕️


6개월정도로 기한을 알려주셨고, 그전이라도 문제가 있으면 언제든지 외과로 재진 오라고 하셨답니다. 😮‍💨


그리하여, 현재 만복이의 상태는 일단 세다리지만 황남매보다 더 잘뛰며, 산책시간을 서서히 늘리면서 근력을 다시 키워주고 있답니다. 💪🏻🙏


그리고 멋진 마킹을 하고자 스스로 물구나무 연습도 하고 있다는점 알려드립니다 🙀🫶

Hello to all the aunties, uncles, brothers, and sisters around the world who love our sweet Manbok! 🫂🤍

Manbok was diagnosed with malignant osteosarcoma near his hip joint and had his hind leg amputated on November 13th, 2025 to remove the tumor. Many of you have been wondering how he’s been doing since then, so I wanted to share the updates you’ve been most curious about. 💪🏻😘

First of all, a lot of people have asked whether Manbok needs a prosthetic leg. 🙄
To give you the conclusion right away — no, he doesn’t need one at this point. 🙅🏻‍♀️

Despite having three legs, Manbok actually runs faster than Hwang siblings. 🦿🏃🏻‍♀️
He’s been able to keep his balance incredibly well and has been rebuilding his muscles beautifully. These days, he’s even practicing handstands! I honestly have no idea how strong he plans to become… 😂💪🏻😳

Some of you were also worried about whether having only one hind leg might put too much strain on his joints. 🥹
I asked the hospital if I should bring him in every month for joint check-ups, but they told me that was way too often… 😂👨🏻‍⚕️
They recommended once every six months instead — and of course, if anything seems off, we can visit anytime for a follow-up.

So, in short:
Manbok may have three legs now, but he’s running better than ever, and we’re slowly increasing his walk time to help him rebuild strength. 💪🏻🙏
And yes… he’s practicing handstands so he can continue doing his “dignified marking pose” with pride. 🙀🫶
If he ever succeeds, I PROMISE I’ll upload the video.
