(028) Phil Phails @ Being a Buddha with Terry Cortes Vega
www.youtube.com/playlist?list...
About Terry Cortes Vega
In 1998 when I was applying to receive the 5 mindfulness trainings at a retreat with Thich Nhat Hanh and his monastics, I was asked: what is your aspiration for receiving the mindfulness trainings?
I thought and thought (Iâve since learned thatâs not the best way to answer a question.:-)
And this is what I said:
âOne time when I was very unhappy I walked outside under the full moon, looked up (as countless ancient ancestors must have done) and I asked the moon, âNow what do I do?â"
The moon did not say anythingâŚ..until more than 20 years later when the moon spoke through the nuns and monks at the1998 retreat and gave me the name, Awakened Action of the Heart.
A couple of years later, when I was ordained into the Order of Interbeing, the monastic community kept the âactionâ in my name and added: True Virtuous. True Virtuous Action.
I received ordination as a lay dharmacharya (Dharma teacher) in March, 2012 and now offer Dharma talks, retreats and Days of. Mindfulness to children, teens and adults in the free world and in jails throughout the United States and in Mexico.
As a happy disciple of Thich Nhat Hanh and an Order of Interbeing dharma teacher, those names continue to direct me
