Taylor Dayne is an American singer, songwriter, and actress. With a career spanning three decades, Taylor's debut single "Tell It to My Heart" turned her into an overnight international star in 1987. She followed the smash hit with seventeen Top 20 singles over the course of her three decade career, including number ones "Love Will Lead You Back", "Prove Your Love", and "I'll Always Love You".
Taylor has sold over 75 million albums and singles worldwide, earned three Grammy nominations, an American Music Award, and multiple New York Music Awards. Every song, every visual, even the nakedness of the cover art was brave. This 1999 release was mostly uncharted territory for me, stepping out as an independent artist. From being a pop icon to finding my way, I left New York for the Wild West.
Naked Without You was shot by the legendary #BertStern, his final shoot. Those images told the story of me uprooting my life. Trading NYC for the sepia tones of Laurel Canyon. Hiking the canyons, asking myself ‘WTF are you doing?,’ then realizing I was five minutes from everything I needed to grow as an artist in Hollywood.
This album was written and produced out of joy, pain, fear, and bravery. A little girl from New York chasing her truth in California.
