resharing this old vlog of me walking around derry feels strange in the best way. i made this when i was still living at home, the world was going in and out of lockdowns, and youtube felt so much smaller. i remember hitting 100k in 2020 and fully losing my mind. that was when it stopped feeling like people who watch my videos and started feeling like a community. back then you all were called the besties lol. now obviously the legendary muckers. (which i’m so glad we changed it to because it’s so much more us and individual)
most of you weren’t from derry, so i loved showing you it. my little city and i guess the streets i grew up on, i didn’t realise at the time how special that period was as it was just me, a camera, and talking to people on the internet when social interaction in real life was limited or none at all.
looking back from 500,000 now is genuinely crazy. weirdly, i feel more connected to my community and audience now. the livestreams, the multiple videos a day, the tour, the comments, the shared inside jokes we come up with like did you just do a violent gesture and bap bap? i don’t deserve your elbow... truly you all have changed my life. you gave me my dream job. you’ve given me experiences and opportunities that adam in this video 5 years ago couldn’t have dreamt of.
i’m just really grateful. i don’t take any of this for granted. 🤍
