Free me, O Lord, from eternal death! Fauré's Requiem is one of the most popular and frequently performed works in the choral repertoire. The composer Gabriel Fauré wrote it between 1887 and 1890, completing the final version in 1900. Unlike many other requiems, Fauré's work is not dark or intimidating, but rather gentle and comforting, with an emphasis on eternal rest and salvation. The outstanding Choir and Orchestra of the Ljubljana Conservatory and soloist Martin Kozjek are unsurpassed.
Arnold Schoenberg's arrangement of Johann Strauss II's iconic "Kaiserwaltz" is a fascinating example of a modernist composer reinterpreting a classic piece.
