Sony is changing Playstation Network name to just "Playstation". I will still call it PSN - PlayStatioN 😂

Digital Foundry doesnt recommend playing Crimson Desert on performance mode on base ps5.

"Due to hit to frame-rate and especially image quality on the standard PS5 means that we can't recommend the 60fps performance mode as an option."

It's recommended to switch to balanced or quality mode to get more stable fps and much better image quality, also make sure to turn off 120hz refresh rate in settings.

When I warned people not to preorder game due to lack of PS5 reviews at launch, which usualy means that game has performance issues, I was told I am hater and was hit with many unsubs.

When devs tell you they target 60fps that does not mean game will have stable 60fps. When game has performance issues devs usualy lower quality of image, so even if this game runs on 1080p, quality of image is lower.

I went through Crimson Desert Reviews to see what they have in common.

PROS:
-game looks amazing on high end pc, it runs in 4k at 60-80 fps at max settings
-game is huge and offers a lot of content and points of interest to explore
-combat has depth, you can unlock and stack many skills on weapons
-combat has many combos and ways to attack
-many things to do in game, list of things you can do is endless
-mining resources
-offers hundreds of hours of gameplay

CONS:
-offers quantity over quality, a lot of grinding
-a lot of small bugs that can be fixed
-no storage chest - will be added after launch
-many reviewers lost over 7h of progress multiple times
-game breaking bugs - working on fix
-some puzzle items not spawning and need you to respawn - leading to progress loss
-story is made out of countless needless fetch quests that dont feel connected
-everything in game require a lot of material: upgrading and crafting, but you get very little items in nature (tree gives you only 3 wood)
-inventory is limited - you need to do fetch quests to unlock more space
-often huge spikes in difficulty - bosses become very aggressive forcing you to explore and upgrade more, or resurrect many times
-you can't interact with most of npcs -- only those related to quest
-you will spend a lot of time doing repetitive meaningless side quests and chores
-you can do a lot, but also, you wont like to do many things you can do
-game's opening is around 8 hours

Rumour is Sony is dropping PSN name to be replaced by PS PLUS. And that new ps plus will include not just online play, free games and trophies, but also access to movies, music and anime, which will result in higher price. Think about all Sony services under one name. This would also include ps plus members exclusive sales like we already have.
I dont know if you remember those tests where sony was testing movies as part of ps plus. Everything could be called ps plus, but you would still have tiers like essential etc. Sales and trophies would be part of non paid ps plus part.

PlayStation will be dropping the “PlayStation Network” and “PSN” branding by September 2026.

The upcoming changes are purely visual and will not introduce any technical alterations to our offerings. To simplify and unify branding, the terms “PlayStation Network” and “PSN” will be phased out across all SIE assets by September 2026.
