From Dry Bones to New Life! (Ezekiel)
The people of Israel had once again turned their backs on God, hardening their hearts towards him.
In Ezekiel 34-37, we see how God plans to send his spirit down to bring a new king and to form a new people of Israel with new hearts.
Ezekiel gets a vision of a huge valley filled with dry bones and human skeletons. God explains that the bones symbolize Israel's spiritual state, and how turning from him has resulted in exile, death of their covenant with God, and literal death.
God then sends his spirit down and the bones begin to get up and form themselves back into full humans again.
Israel's only hope is for God to come down and remake his people to love God and each other. This is also a call back to the book of Genesis, where God using divine breath breaths life into forming humans.

Howdy everyone! I highly recommend reading the book of Ruth in the old testament. It's a fairly short book about a Moabite (non-Israelite) woman named Ruth and how through dedication and faith, she is ultimately blessed by God even though she is not from God's 'chosen' people. God Bless!!!
