Hiiiii Homies! My maternity leave is officially OVER & I'm back!!
Mom life is actually WILD and I can't wait to fill y'all in on everything that's been going on over here the last 3 months. Like how we somehow got blessed with a baby that loveddd to sleep through the night...until the 4 month sleep regression hit a month early. And how breastfeeding is the most draining and wonderful thing I've ever done. And how I have zerooo clue how I'm going to juggle working from home + first time mom life, but I'm figuring it out as I go, and bringing y'all along for the journey!
Speaking of wfh & momming, my first two videos back are gonna be out of order. (I just don't have the same amount of editing time as I used to, go figure lol) So we're jumping right into a very small, but necessary project (Four's first DIY!) and then I have another video planned to go live later this week to give you a little peek into our newborn bubble. making such a huge shift in my content and my business has been the most mentally draining and scary thing I’ve done in a while. believe it or not, when the going gets tough, my natural instinct is to give up. the girl y’all see patiently and painstakingly pushing through projects, taking challenges head on, and pivoting without a misstep? yeah, that’s definitely a learned skill bc baybeeee let me tell you how badly I wanted to quit this whole YouTube thing before it even began.
but there was something about this particular challenge that sparked a fire in me. it started as a small voice in the back of my mind that just said: try. so I did. I spent a year and a half recording my life before I ever even edited a single YouTube video. I didn’t have the confidence (or the time) to start a whole new platform from scratch yet but I knew I’d find it.
then in November last year, the day I planned to “launch” my YouTube channel with the big news that we were moving, my hard drive crashed with ALL of the videos I recorded throughout the year. poof. All of my videos, gone. my projects, wedding planning, our honeymoon vlog, our homebuilding journey…all gone. and I knew right then, if the devil is working this hard to keep me from YouTube, that must be where I’m supposed to be.
so I kept going (and I got all of the footage recovered btw 🙌🏾) and that small voice grew into a bigger feeling of purpose. I kept showing up and y’all showed up right back to the tune of ONE HUNDRED THOUSAND HOMIES. I couldn’t be more grateful for the platform you guys have given me & the fact that I’m able to do what I love every day.
thank you for being here. thank you for watching. thank you for sticking with me through inconsistent uploads and shitty audio (my biggest struggles lol) thank you for every single encouraging comment, every thumbs up, every time you shared one of my videos with a friend. every message you’ve sent me telling me how I inspired you to try a diy project of your own. thank you for hitting that subscribe button and the notification bell so you never miss an upload lol. seriously, thank you. I couldn’t do this without you. 🤍
now who’s ready for some wedding recap content?! I have SO much footage that I never got a chance to edit after the wedding (see: month long honeymoon & then selling our home as soon as we got home) sooo I have A LOT to share with y’all!
I’ll still be posting my normal diy content but also sprinkling in the wedding stuff anddd finally sharing my lifesaver wedding planning spreadsheet! 🫶🏾
Life has truly been lifeing lately (someone plzzz slow down time for me). I really don't know why I thought I'd be able to move in, get unpacked, AND keep up with posting on YT/IG/TT (delulu to the highest degree) but obviously, we see which one had to take a back seat. sorry bout dat. 🫶🏾
but I'm back now so let's get into this cleaning/unpacking with me vibe!! play this and let's do a little home decluttering and organizing together :)
