✅Recent concerns have arisen regarding a rare side effect associated with the COVISHIELD Vaccine, and I believe it's important to clarify the facts. 🧬AstraZeneca has acknowledged that its COVID-19 vaccine, COVISHIELD, may rarely lead to blood clotting, known as "Thrombosis with Thrombocytopenia Syndrome (TTS)." Developed by AstraZeneca and the University of Oxford, and manufactured in India by the Serum Institute of India Pvt. Ltd., this vaccine has been associated with a condition involving the formation of blood clots in the brain or other parts of the body, accompanied by a low platelet count. This condition, also known as Vaccine-Induced Prothrombotic Immune Thrombocytopenia (VIPIT) or Vaccine-Induced Immune Thrombotic Thrombocytopenia (VITT), has been linked to certain COVID-19 vaccines, particularly those using adenovirus vector technology, such as this vaccine and Johnson & Johnson's JANSSEN vaccine.

Now, let's clarify some facts:🌡️

1.🧪 All medicines and vaccines, without exception, carry a risk of rare side effects. Even the safest medications and vaccines have a small risk of side effects, typically affecting only a tiny fraction of people, like 10 out of every 100,000. For example, vaccines like BCG, administered during childhood, have a very slight chance of causing serious side effects, such as Osteitis and Arthritis. However, the vast majority of people experience no problems and are protected from disease thanks to vaccination.

2. 🧪During clinical trials, the goal of producing vaccines/medicines is to minimize side effects while maximizing benefits, prolonging good health. Just like how there's always a possibility of a ceiling fan falling, yet we still install ceiling fans.

3. 🧪Scientists at AstraZeneca have mentioned that any adverse reactions would likely manifest within the first 2 to 3 months. Dr. Rajeev Jayadevan, co-chairman of the Covid Task Force at the National Indian Medical Association (IMA) in Kerala, has raised concerns about clotting for individuals who received their initial vaccine dose and within the first month thereafter. He also added, "People are not at risk of TTS. Also, heart attacks and strokes we see in practice are not caused by TTS, which is an exceptionally rare immunological reaction that leads to clots in certain locations such as the brain and elsewhere."

Remember, unnecessary fear and panic have caused more harm during the COVID-19 pandemic than the virus itself. Let's not be ignorant and ensure we have the facts straight.

Lastly, I kindly request refraining from engaging in political agendas or relying solely on unsubstantiated information from sources like 'WhatsApp University.' Let's ensure that people's trust in the healthcare system remains intact.
