Is your baby hungry πΌ or just tired π΄?
The cues can look so similar β but the body tells a different story π
π Hungry babies focus on their mouth & hands
β’ Rooting and sucking
β’ Lip smacking
β’ Alert β fussy
β’ Crying that escalates
β’ Calms once fed πΌ
π Tired babies show it through their eyes & body
β’ Rubbing eyes
β’ Glazed, slow movements
β’ Turning away from stimulation
β’ Whiny, strained cry
β’ Feeding may frustrate instead of soothe
β¨ Remember:
Hungry babies seek input.
Tired babies avoid input.
Reading the type of cue β not just the cry β can make feeding and sleep so much easier for both of you π

The achievements and milestones of a one-year-old baby can vary, as each child develops at their own pace. However, here are some general milestones that many one-year-olds may achieve:
Motor Skills:
Gross Motor Skills: Many one-year-olds can stand with support and may even take a few steps.
Fine Motor Skills: They may be able to pick up small objects using a pincer grasp (thumb and forefinger).
Language and Communication:
They may say a few words, such as "mama" or "dada."
Understand simple commands, like "wave bye-bye" or "give me the toy."
Social and Emotional Development:
Developing a sense of independence and may show some signs of frustration when unable to do something.
Enjoying simple games like peek-a-boo.
Responding to their own name.
Cognitive Skills:
Exploring objects through banging, shaking, and throwing.
Understanding cause and effect (e.g., pressing a button to make a sound).
Feeding:
Beginning to self-feed with fingers and may be introduced to a cup.
Transitioning to a wider variety of solid foods.
Sleep:
Most one-year-olds still need around 11-14 hours of sleep per day, including naps.
It's important to note that these milestones provide a general guideline, and there is a wide range of normal development. If you have concerns about your child's development, it's always a good idea to consult with your pediatrician for personalized guidance.
