Did you know that Monaco has been reclaiming land from the sea for over 50 years?

Long before Mareterra, there was Fontvieille. Constructed in the 1970s and 1980s, Fontvieille became Monaco's first modern waterfront district, demonstrating how expanding into the sea could transform an entire country. Today, it is one of the greenest and most peaceful areas in the Principality, featuring the Princess Grace Rose Garden, Stade Louis II, the International University of Monaco, schools, shops, and a true neighbourhood atmosphere.

I used to live in Fontvieille, and it remains one of my favourite places in Monaco.
