Got Linux Zorin installed on a seperate drive. Audio is working, internet, bluetooth and I even managed to get the nvidia drive installed. But blender doesn't see the GPU, despite the system recognizing it and recognizing the latest driver. I can't even get Blender to render using the CPU. My brain hurts....

I don't consider myself to be especially smart or computer literate. But I do think I understand this stuff better than the average person and yet, I can't figure it out. All I am saying is there's a reason windows is so popular.

RAM prices are completely out of control. Only a fool would partake. This is the RAM I have in my PC. I paid $139 for it 8 months ago. Now it's basically $400.

I have been trying to get away from windows. I have tried several distros of linux. Mint, Zorin, Ubuntu and Fedora. In each case I created a dual boot setup where during startup I can press f11 to open the boot menu and choose to boot into the OS I choose.

Mint, I can't get bluetooth to work
Zorin, I can't get the audio to work
Ubuntu, I can't get the NIC to work
Fedora, well, I could not successfully get it to boot

Zorin is my favorite. But while I can see the audio device Sony Receiver via HDMI, when selected, no audio comes out. I am sudo frustrated. I am keeping Zorin installed and am trying to figure out all the issues. I at one time had mint on an external ssd and it mostly worked. But somewhere along the lines the USB SSD was unplugged long enough the nand flash developed Alzheimer's.

I started lifting weights a few months ago. But of course, you have to work a muscle group and wait 4-7 days before working that muscle group again in order to give it time to recover. You also need to progressively hit those muscle groups harder in order to create the damage to the muscle cells in order to have something to recover from. The weird part is, I am starting to look forward to my next lift session. After a lift session, I feel great the rest of the day. I want to get a barbell and start deadlifting. I will seriously need to start out with a light weight to develop a safe technique. I am old and not looking to become meathead, just a stronger person who is not so weak I can't handle life.

I started doing dumbbell presses today. I have not done any bench press type exercise in more than 2 decades. I am amazed at how weak I am. Just four sets with 40 pound dumbbells and my shoulders and chest is completely wrecked. 12 reps, 10, 8 and then struggled to do 6.

I have become soft.

Apparently "protestors" are crashing out in Mexico. My understanding is they believe their elections are rigged and the state is complicit in assassinations of various elected politicians. They are making J6 look tepid.
