Hey y'all! Just a heads up that I'll be participating on a panel hosed by the Media Education Lab, "Librarians on YouTube" on Wednesday May 19 from 12-1 Eastern! You can find more info here, including a link to register: mediaeducationlab.com/creator-panel
The Media Education Lab operates out of the University of Rhode Island's Harrington School of Communication and Media, and I think this'll be a great opportunity for some of y'all to hear from some other folks in the field, meet others interested/involved in librarianship, and just generally have a good time. :)

Following the last poll I did, I was surprised but happy to see that the overwhelming majority of votes that came in were for a video on police in the library! So, I've started doing some research for that script (I'll likely also bring in my personal experience), but in the interim I want to just share this talk facilitated by the Black Caucus of the American Library Association, talking about a bunch of different aspects to keep in mind about LEO in libraries.

Y'all we're all of 6 weeks into the new school year but doesn't it feel like it's been thirteen years?
Join me next week to have a check in with how things are going. Bring your questions, anxieties, good news, and whatever other baggage you've got and let's do some unpacking.

Thanks again to y'all who came to the mid-week stream last week, and to y'all who've sat down to watch it since it went live ^_^ It was actually really nice for me to be able to talk out some of my thoughts out, and resulted in a script that is like 90% done (but needs a LOT of massaging before I can sit down and shoot it).
So, how about another one next week! I imagine I'll have some things to talk about, but I'd also like to know what you'd like covered. I put a few ideas in the poll below, but those are by no means the only options! Leave a comment with whatever you want to talk about
