From Nyhavn to Kongens Nytorv, Christmas markets invite you into a world of handmade crafts, mulled wine (gløgg), Danish pastries and glowing lanterns that make the streets feel alive. It’s not loud energy it’s quiet magic. ✨

Rooftop to try in Paris: Galeries Lafayette Terrace Floor
– free access – panoramic view over the city – clear Eiffel Tower view – Opera Garnier and Haussmann architecture look amazing from here – sunset light is perfect for photos
This spot is especially great if it’s your first time in Paris. It’s “touristy” but in the best way easy to reach, worth the view.

Copenhagen is entering its Christmas season again and this area becomes pure magic 🎄✨ I stayed at Ascot Hotel, just behind Tivoli Gardens. If you want to experience Christmas markets instead of just “seeing” them this location is gold.
From this exact street you can walk to: • Tivoli’s Christmas Market (2–3 minutes) • Strøget Europe’s longest pedestrian shopping street • cosy cafés with Scandinavian desserts • hot gløgg stalls (Danish mulled wine) • local design shops hidden in side streets
Here, winter doesn’t feel cold it feels festive.
This is the kind of December trip where you: taste almond pastries try warm cinnamon drinks buy small hand made Danish ornaments and get lost (on purpose) in warm yellow lights.

In temples across Japan, you’ll find rows of small stone figures dressed in red caps and bibs, surrounded by colorful pinwheels gently spinning in the wind.
These are Jizō Bosatsu, the compassionate guardian deities of children, travelers, and the souls of those who passed away too soon especially unborn or lost infants.
In Buddhist belief, Jizō stands at the crossroads between life and the afterlife, guiding young souls safely across the river that separates this world from the next.
Parents come to these temples to pray, to grieve, and to decorate the statues with love offering clothes, flowers, and pinwheels so that their children may never feel cold, alone, or forgotten.
The red garments symbolize protection and rebirth, while the spinning pinwheels represent the gentle continuation of life movement, memory, and hope carried by the wind.
Standing here, surrounded by hundreds of these tender faces, you don’t feel sorrow you feel peace. A quiet understanding that love, in any form, never truly ends. 🌸
