KOLA’S LAST DIARY SESSION


KOLA: I don’t think I have anything to apologize for. We came on a show, it is a social experiment. We all came in with our palms open. I’m a peacemaker, I like to make sure everything is okay for the most part. The problem perhaps is miscommunication; it’s either the encoder and decoder miscommunicated. We can be cordial, not everyone is going to be your friend.27 people cannot like you and you cannot like 27 people. I’m just grateful to be a finalist.



BIGGIE : If you win the money what will
You do with it ?
KOLA: Hey hey, dramatic shout hey hey The very first thing is to give my parents a first class trip to anywhere they want, give them the trip they deserve. I owe my family my life; they have made me into the man I am. I’m grateful for the man they have made me into today. If my parents are happy, I’m happy. Any other thing will come after I think of what I want to do with it. My parents like a good travel.


BIGGIE :If you don’t win, who would you like to win?
KOLA: It’s Imisi, my dearest friend, my dearest BBN sister. She deserves it. I know where she comes from and how much it will mean to her. I’m like why? She is very smart, very talented, very caring, very loyal. I came into the show and I’m leaving with someone who I know will always have my back. She is a pure soul. This would mean a lot to her and her family. Even if she doesn’t win, God will come through for her and her family. She is a pure soul, very God-fearing. Sometimes I question what did I do to deserve her?
I will be in the arena in another team and Imisi will be rooting for me. Not a lot of people know how to be selfless. I pray God blesses her beyond measure. I felt like I was unlucky with tasks and she was always pushing me, always made sure I was eating. What else do you want from a friend? That’s why I call her my sister. I’m happy that I have walked this way with someone who genuinely wishes me well.
She is annoying sometimes and stubborn but nobody is perfect. Every time I stood every Sunday I always thought if I left, because she always looked like she would not be herself. Even if sometimes I feel like I deserve it, I also feel like I deserve it .God will bless her. Oh God really should bless her. If she wins tonight it will just feel like I won.

BIGGIE :If you could say something to your supporters what would it be ?
KOLA: To be you, to allow your emotions speak for itself, to let the whole thing play its course, to find peace in everything and always know you will be fine. If you know where you are coming from you will know where you are going to. Being humble in everything, your emotions are important and your feelings are valid. Every day you have a bad day, just know joy is coming.
Everyone who saw something in me and believed in me because it’s like you saw a little part of yourself in me I’m grateful. I don’t take it for granted. I don’t know what I did but I’m grateful. It means the world to me. I do appreciate. I hope you guys enjoyed my style in my own way. I’m grateful you guys let me be me and didn’t judge me for my emotions, never judged me, never made me feel like it’s a weakness, never made me feel like I didn’t deserve to be here. Thank you for the validation you guys have given me, for the love you have shown me. You will always find love.

KOLA: Thank you Big Brother for giving me this platform, for giving me a listening ear. I’m grateful for this experience. It’s a once in a lifetime one and I’m grateful to be selected.

ISABELLA’S LAST DIARY SESSION

ISABELLA: I’m wondering why the people love me and kept me here for ten weeks when the people in the house said my house was empty. But they kept me. I didn’t find immunity, nobody saved me, it was just them. This is beyond my friends doing what they had to do, this is people from different countries. I love them so much and I genuinely thank them for keeping me here. I wish I could make it up to them.


BIGGIE: Is there anything you would like to discuss with Big Brother?
ISABELLA: My outfit was not my size yesterday and I was so sad. The stylist always came through for my outfits, I was looking forward to my outfit and I was so sad my outfit was not my size.


BIGGIE: Is that really what you would like to discuss on your last diary session?
ISABELLA: I’m not going to say I’m going to miss everybody because I’m going to see them. I’m going to miss the house, I’m going to miss the experience. I hope I did my best and gave a show.


BIGGIE: For the past ten weeks you were the life of the parties. You have shown willpower that so many others do not possess. You did not allow punishment to break your spirit. You came here to become a star and you put on a show.

MENSAN’S LAST DIARY SESSION

BIGGIE: If you win the money what would you do with it?
MENSAN: You say I should stop saying if and say when. So, when I win, I have been trying to set up a company called GTE. I would like to further my education, get a Master’s in Oil and Gas because of where I’m coming from. I think my people are not enjoying the 3 percent, I want to help them enjoy the dividends. I don’t want a PhD for now.
We didn’t have anywhere to stay. I want to set up a place for her. I will make sure I take care of her and my eldest sister. If that’s the only thing I will do in this life, I will make sure I do it. I don’t want to mention it here, if I leave this house and I see you, I will tell you. Foundation for single mothers, girl child and widow. I have waited to make this right, I really need this money. I wish we had the opportunity for me to talk to you outside this show. The thing that always makes me shed tears, I told myself I won’t cry today and I have been holding myself.


BIGGIE: Who would you like to win if you don’t?
MENSAN: Koyin, because he has been a good friend. He understands me. Whenever I see people that understand me and wish me the best, I always wish them the best too.


BIGGIE: If you could say something to your supporters what would it be?
MENSAN: Thank you to my creator for life. Thank you to my supporters. I can’t use the word fans, you people are more than fans. Thank you. When I came in I used to do PR on WhatsApp for you people to see me on TV and start supporting me. It’s a lot for me. I don’t know how to thank you. I don’t know how to thank the people of Andoni, Rivers State, Nigerians, 53 African countries.
I always pray that God raises men to bless me, that’s my mum’s prayer, I copied it from her. I always hear her praying it. I always use the bathroom, that’s my sacred place. I face the wall, I tell God to bless and favour everyone. If I have wronged anyone in the house please don’t blame me, I’m just in an enclosed space. I’m sorry. I’m a good person with a good heart. I have learnt a lot. I’m going to be a good friend to everybody. I’m going to live my best life outside this place.


I want to say a big thank you to everyone that supported me. It took me 8 years to be here. I kept pushing. No matter how long, that thing you are looking for, you will get it. My supporters, my helpers, Mensan love Africa. I love you mummy, I can’t wait to see you when I come out. Today I will explain myself to everyone.


Biggie : is there anything else you would like to discuss with big brother?
Mensan : Big Brother, I would like to hear you after this place, maybe call or something, because when I hear your voice I feel good. I think I would like to be hearing from you, calls maybe twice in a month. Your words keep me going.
I really wish my mum will be here. I wish to see my mum, very important. Anybody that wants to come, they should allow them. My mum is getting older, I would love to see her here and get her a birthday gift. Getting my mum a house would be the best thing.

DEDE’S LAST DIARY SESSION

Dede: This is one of the days I know exactly how I feel. I feel great, I feel fantastic. I’m here in the finals. I get to turn off the light, like we say. I get to see my friends and family. Just knowing how far I have come, I came in when the show was about to start and I get to stay till the finals. I get to wear my final dress even though it’s rumpled.


Biggie: Who would you like to thank or apologize to?
Dede: None. I think the apology is already out there. I don’t think I have anything to apologize for. And thank? Nobody.


Biggie: If you win, what would you do with the money?
Dede: I will buy my mum a car. I don’t know how much it is or if it would be enough to buy a car but I will buy my mum a car.


Biggie: If you don’t win, who would you like to win?
Dede: Errrm okay, on this one I have two people in mind. Can I do two?


Biggie: Yes, you can.
Dede: Mensan and Imisi. There is no reason in particular, it just feels right. Either of them will really feel good.


Biggie : if you could say one thing to your supporters what would it be ?
Dede: Thank you. Just thank you. Errrm I’m not gonna cry today. I would say thank you, honestly just thank you. Hmmm thank you Big Brother, just thank you. Thank you may seem short but it holds a lot. Thank you for seeing me, thank you for believing even on days when I didn’t believe in the course. Thank you for not backing down. Thank you for choosing me. Thank you for accepting me. Thank you for loving me, for deciding to be a part of my journey. It means the world to me.

Dede : As at yesterday, I said I was going to yap a lot about what everyone said during the dinner but I woke up today and said I don’t give a shit. I don’t care. I’m still that girl today and forever. Thank you for the days you didn’t give me a direct answer to take me from where I was but you took me through the part that says, “Dede, I will not push you but here are the options you have,” for being an actual Big Brother. Thank you. I may never sit here again but it’s been great. Mutters to herself while battling tears: “Don’t do it baddie.”
I woke up this morning, I looked at myself in the mirror and said, “I will have my diary session and I will not cry. I will go and be merry,” and that’s what I’m going to do. Thank you for guiding us.


Biggie: For the past ten weeks you have shown that it is possible to be beautiful and incredibly competitive. Your competitiveness in the arena was refreshing. Your ability to navigate complex situations shows you are wiser than you imagine. You deserve the same grace you give. Big Brother is certain that today, tomorrow and forever, you will always be that girl.


Dede: I had a great time. I lived. It may not have been the way people lived but I did live. I’m happy to see everyone, my nieces. I don’t know what they look like now.
